NEW CBA Benefits

This new CBA, the benefits of it are starting to work.

The transactions today and going forward are really already a good sign that this league can improve and small market teams can compete.

Also the first big signing since CBA has been done.

Travis Zajack NJD has signed an 8 year contract and when you see it broken down each year, the money Is back loaded with options for both sides.

I hope that as each team starts to benefit from the new rules and features that both sides NHL and PA will have more easier sessions in the future on creating future CBA when those times come.

So I'm watching the History channel's Ultimate Guide to the Presidents (good program, by the way) and a commercial for NHL on NBC & NBC Sports comes on. As it is the first one I've seen thus far my original reaction was to think "about time."

But then something happened in the commercial to remind me that they must not have cared too much. After the promo they put together for the Kings SC home opener game, they threw one together where they said something along the lines of "Sidney Crosby goes to rival Philly where Claude Giroux of the Flyers wait to exact revenge of rival Pitt for last years playoff loss."

I understand they probably threw this commercial together at the last minute but don't they have any fact checkers over there to make sure what they're saying in these advertisements is correct?

Anyone else see this?

E: I caught the commercial once again, here's what I'm talking about

Apparently the Devils signed Ryan Ludwick and he changed his name to Anssi Salmela

Well it looks like Tim Connolly will be put on waivers at noon today. Maple Leafs are clearing a lot of dead weight from their line up for the younger players. Maybe they aren't in on Luongo as much as everyone thinks? Going with the youth movement instead of actually trading that youth for Luongo.

Avs fan here. Sorry if I am trespassing.

Henrik Karlsson and Leland Irving on waivers. You need a back up right? I would go for one of them.

Interesting choice.

I'm kind of surprised they didn't role 3 As this year and see where things fall.

Damn, I would've taken those two over Leighton and Boucher any day.

Overpaying FAs and being disappointed instead of developing your own talent is the way of our people.

Stolarz will give up 4 goals in his first game as a Flyer and will be banished to the minors never to be seen again. Leighton gives up 4 and is rewarded with a shiny new multi year deal.

Embarrassing coming from the home of the NHL. Lazy and ignorant as well. Someone should be fired for that. Just shows how fast they are to pimp that #####.

It is the right number. He wore #27 during the Winter Classic.
