Also, I'm fairly new to this but think I get the general gist of it. Is there a rules/guidelines thread I can take a look at.
The terrible three are back:
Newsy, Lester, and Frank are coming. Get ready for the best NHA team you'll ever see!
I had posted links to inform him and PM'd them to him a long time ago. This newbie hasn't even logged in since January 10th! a week ago. He has a hundred posts on the board and is a question mark for participation, hence why his slot was considered by TDMM as possibly going to arrbez and Bubbaboot instead. I just now sent DemonsOnIce96 another PM.
At this point any two of DemonsonIce96, BubbaBoot or arrbez should get the slot as co-GMs, eh? depending on who actually checks their PMs in the next day or so (ALL were PM'd before today and haven't responded yet).
Hey y'all. I don't mind GM-ing my own team. I can't promise that I'll be any good, especially as we get into the later rounds, but I'm willing to try. I'd prefer to co-GM, but I'm willing to be baptized by fire if that's what helps. If so, I'll take the St. Louis Eagles
Godmademe pmed me saying that if Murphy still wanted his own team they could split.
Suggestion: We wait until we hear from Murphy until later tonight , if theres no sign of him bluesfan94 will have his own team.(putting murphy in priority since bluesfan94 seems to have his doubt about being alone (though I wouldnt worry if I was him , we all started somewhere ))
gawd, we probably could have easily had 40 teams here. And good ones too, with none managed by just one unknown newbie. (I don't consider BubbaBoot, Darth Yoda or bluesfan to be unknown newbies)

arrbez seems like the perfect co-GM for you! He will be around sometimes and of course sevnetieslord and sturminator would most likely be willing and able to give advice if you PM'd them as they are veteran ATDers and former champions even.
And given what a mess ATD2011 was, I don't see us trying 40 teams again for a long time. Maybe 36. Posters who wanted 40 teams should have really tried harder to make ATD2011 run smoothly.
Alright, so after giving it some thought, partially to avoid having to pay attention to my professor, I'm open to gm-ing my own team. Obviously BubbaBoot comes first, because he (she?) was here first.

believe me, I'm not pushing for this, I think the ship has sailed, but it is not the same thing now as then.
there were two reasons why ATD2011 was a mess. One was the socks. They're gone. Two was a number of newbies running teams who just disappeared and/or were really sketchy. It really doesn't look like we have a single one of those, nor would we if we went to 40 teams.
32 is a great natural number simply because it is a multiple of two and makes the divisional/playoff bracketing intuitive and sensible.
Let's give this some time. We have more than enough resources here. We don't need to hurry a rookie GM into running his own team if he isn't sure that's what he wants. But if it comes to that, sure, I'll help him out.
Based on when VI posted, he PMed Bubba 22 hours ago. Let's give him until tonight US time. I'll PM him again and let him know he can take the spot even without arrbez as his co-GM (not sure if you made that clear or not, VI) and tell him to do it ASAP.
He was online yesterday but not too late into the night, so might not have gotten the PM yet.

Priority list:
Murphy (wanted his own team initially and has re-affirmed his willingness, is a veteran too)
bluesfan94 (could stay co-GM with overpass)
arrbez (could co-GM with someolike, like Darth Yoda later on whenever)
BubbaBoot (could co-GM with someone or go on waiting list)
DemonsOnIce96 (could co-GM with someone or go on waiting list)
I recommend we let Murphy run his Edmonton Mercurys and God Made Me would have his St. Catherines Teepees back.

Silly you; there are no women in the ATD. Or if there are, they are afraid to reveal themselves.
I think we should let new GMs (even veteran History board posters like Bubba) co-GM with a veteran whenever possible. I was mentored by Nalyd my first time around, and it was a great experience. We should encourage mentoring as much as possible in the ATD, in my opinion. It leads to more stable, dependable teams, and I think offers the rookies a more positive and enlightening experience. Not all rookie GMs are created equal and some guys are good to go as solo GMs right out of the box, but teaming up rookies with veterans whenever possible wouldn't do the draft any harm.

Agreed. It would be wise, and it could avoid some problems too (if there's a deadbeat newbie or super-homer picks).
