Rate the Dee
A lot of worries about the second line, but all things considering I reckon the d, the goalies, first third and fourth lines look pretty swell..
What wouldja rate the d going into the season out of 10...
I know what I'd give em...
Edler
Hamhuis
Bieksa
Garrison
Tanev
Ballard
Alberts
Vanderhoof
Barker

9/10
Canucks are going in with easily one of the best top six in the league. It drops off after that, but their top 4 core is solid as hell, and Ballard-Tanev make for a really good bottom pairing.

One area I'm very excited about this season. For how it looks on paper right now, I'm going to say 8.

Accidentally put 10, but I'd say 9. Not many teams have a better D core than us.

9 if Garrison/Edler works out

Need to see how Edler and Garrison pair off but 8-9. If Ballard rebounds, we may boast the best defense in the league.

I say 7, maybe 8 if garrison can play at an even higher level than he did in Florida..
For our D to be a 9 or 10, we still need to have that definitive #1 guy or at least a guy like Ehrhoff who could get in the high 50s in points

If we're calling Vandermeer.. Vanderhoof. Can we go with Barkerville for Barker. And maybe Garrison Hot Springs, too?

Going with 9. Still missing a franchise Dman.

Edler. He's gonna come into his own this year. I have a feeling Edler and Garrison will dominate. We're gonna have two number one pairings. I honestly think this will be the best defensive core in Canucks history.

Why do people keep saying this? We're perfectly fine, and damn good already without a franchise defensemen. Plus Edler could easily fill that void soon anyways.
