Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie
Multiple teams considering options on both. LA, STL, TOR, FLA among those kicking tires on Redden, ANA and CAR among those considering Gomez

Would we be interested in Redden? He's still decent enough.

Further, #Flyers very interested in PK. Source says #Habs reject trade for Talbot & 2013 1st. "A deal worth considering must inc. Simmonds".

Very interesting.

That's close to Kadri + 1st for Carter/Richards.

Yeah but who is more likely to make a big impact with us? Simmonds or Subban? I'm inclined to say Subban.

Assuming no defenseman would be traded we'd be looking at...

Hartnell-Giroux-Schenn
Briere-Couturier-Voracek
Talbot-Laughton-Read
Rinaldo-Fedotenko-Wellwood

Subban-Coburn
Timonen-Schenn
Meszaros-Grossmann

Sounds pretty good to me.

I think Simmonds + 1st is terrible value.

I think Simmonds is roughly equal value with Subban, honestly. He's extremely overrated.

Toss in the fact that he's reported to be a locker room cancer and wants Drew Doughty money without the on-ice product makes this a no-go.

I don't include Simmonds in any deal going to Montreal for Subban. There's very few things that can drag Simmonds out of Philadelphia in my opinion. Future Scott Hartnell/Mike Knuble/etc. You always need one of those guys to clear out the corners even if he's not as big.

In all fairness, I particularly loathe Subban, but we could use him. Talbot + 1st is a minor lowball.

So you think that 29 year old young star Henrik Karlsson and his record of 26 NHL games played so far should have impressed the Flyers brass?

Don't know much about Leland Irving - is he even better than Cal Heeter?

I don't think we can afford to trade a winger like Simmonds at this point. We are very weak depth wise on wing, and loosing the guy who does the garbage work would just create another hole. To bad we have no prospects to move

Yep. The way I look at it, the winger we were going to trade -- and did trade -- was JVR. Now that he's done, there's no point at depleting our wingers again. We probably could've worked something out around JVR for Subban, but that ship has sailed, and we've got Schenn.

I personally don't like Subban, but he'd look good in orange and black. Don't want him for Simmonds, though. I like Simmer too much.

I would do Matt Read+1st for Subban.

The one reason Montreal won't like that is because he is a UFA after next year. Simmer is locked up long term now, so they wouldn't have to worry about losing him so soon after the trade.
