I agree, I absolutely love his shot, especially his wrist shot.

I think Sheahan and Ferraro could add something similar to the wings like Helm did in the playoffs in 2008. Ferraro for his speed and tenacity like Helm and Sheahan for big bodied fourth line center so Abdelkader could play wing

Abdelkader - Sheahan - Tootoo would be a dirty 4th line in the playoffs.

Jurco has been insanely disappointing. He's over thinking out there, trying to be perfect.

He looks disinterested, he takes shots from the outside, never drives the net. He was looked alot better at the beginning of the year.

Thats the line I would want to see for sure. Sheahan is awesome defensively and doesnt really lose puck battles. The other 2 can be turned loose on the forecheck all game. Keep Miller as the 13th forward

Over the course of a long series they would be a damaging line, hard on the puck defensively responsible and utterly wearing out opponents.

didn't know where else to put it but here's a video from a ref cam at the red white game. its pretty funny. theres a moment where Franzen is asked if he's ready and if he wants a few minutes, you can see him say he's not ready

Goes up to Brunner and Franzen: "Fight, I'll catch it on camera"

Some cool shots in that video.

It has a lot more to do with the points but you have to think this helps the GR powerplay a lot still. Expect Hoggan is off that unit, hopefully they allow Sheahan to play a point here shortly, he was pretty good at it when he was at ND.

Nyquist - Andersson - Tatar
Billins - Almqvist

Pare - Ferraro - Knuble
Paetsch - Sheahan

You could also have Sheahan take the draw on the first line and slide back to d afterwards, seen the Rangers do that a lot with Richards.

Allows for a

Nyquist - Knuble - Tatar
Billins - Sheahan PP unit.

Lashoff back & Knuble, 2 big bodies. Knobs may help the PP. looking a bit better than yesterday

If Griffins can keep the current line-up in the playoffs, I think they can make a serious run.

I agree with this, plus and I know people around here don't want to hear this but if the Wings have a terrible start, my guess is given the amount of games he has played this year the Griffins will have Smith on their roster as an eligible player for the post-season if that is how things look.

Without looking around too much, the top6 forwards are tops in the league. Knuble is yet another leader type and will surely play at a very high AHL level and bring even more scoring depth. Defense has a nice variety of different types and some veterans, but that would be the biggest questionmark. Could get reinforced late in the season though as you said. Mrazek is a playoff type of goaltender.

Most other teams are being ripped apart right now, especially fellow top teams in the conference Charlotte, Toronto and Texas. Beyond those teams, I see the biggest threats in the Eastern conference.

Totonto is a little bit, but have to think Connolly is a huge upgrade and as soon as Gardiner gets healthy another pretty nice D is coming back. Fratten went back today, that is still a pretty scary team even with Aucion gone.

But yes the Griffins look real good expecting them to go on a nice little run here in a second. Have not heard on Nicastro who limped off but if he is the choice over Fournier which I hope that D is still pretty solid and they are going to role very deep by AHL standards at the forward positions.

Also losing Kostka and Kadri who were point per game. Still a top team, but not as scary anymore.

Nicastro's rugged game fits in way better on the team than Fournier imo. Lashoff, Evans and Nicastro all on one pairing each with a good puck mover. That's a good balance.

That definitely sounds like a solid set of stay at home, physical d-men.

Griffs and Hogs having a showdown. 6-3 halfway through the game and equipment flying everywhere as the teams went fighting. Mrazek and Hutton ejected

(Yes it was Rockford gooning it up)
