I was going to say the pretzel guy could throw, but I thought I might be taking it too far.

Yeah, nah.

If the Flyers want to worry about that hit, they can. There's a good bet the Pens haven't thought about it once.

MBV/Slint/Cynic - that would be a tasty combination. maybe with a dose of Tortoise.

Because it's Philly.

I would definitely listen to that band if it existed.

On topic-ish, I thinK Shero traded Michalek back to the Coyotes to protect him from payback for his own vicious attack on Claude "Claide" Giroux.

I didn't get to see alot of the scrimmage last night, but I'm just now noticing on the game blog that they had Jeffrey centering Glass and Adams. Is Vitale going to be the 13th forward?

It would be stupid. Vitale looked good last night.

I'd much rather see Vitale in over Adams, but to be honest, I want Jeffrey in the lineup. He's a quality player. When Sid/Geno get shifts together, Sutter moves up and so can Jeffrey. Decent 2nd unit PP guy too.

Sadly, it'll probably be Jeffrey.

I don't think fighting would be the wisest move. Fighting is the Flyers MO and it would give the home crowd something to cheer about.

I don't know why the Pens don't dress MacIntyre. Put Engelland out with Crosby and Tangradi out with Malkin. After Rinaldo blocks all of MacIntyre's punches with his face it should be no problem for Pittsburgh to win. Philadelphia won by intimidating Pittsburgh and no one would protect the stars. Pittsburgh needs to reciprocate and they have the personnel to do it. You don't want or need Neal fighting they have other players for that.

Rinaldo wouldn't go within 20 feet of MacIntyre.

No, they won by goading the stars into acting like idiots. The Flyers aren't the Broadstreet Bullies anymore, they're more like a bunch of agitators. The gamesmanship, the yapping, the sneaky stuff between whistles, that's their identity now.

As much as I joke about Neal doing the fake glove drops and everything else, the best thing to do is to just play hockey. Finish your hits and everything of course, but do what the Devils did and have it so when they're chirping out they're basically talking to themselves.

Not on that dive, it was too immediate . However, I'm sure one can find a Flyer flopping similarly to Flair if they look hard enough.

FWIW the GDT will be up at some point tomorrow. I feel like **** today and just don't feel like working on it right now.

Agreed. But I'm not sure we're capable of that.

I don't think so either. Malkin seems particularly susceptible to it. No idea why.

Here's what I'm wondering: will the vicious edge between these teams be blunted by the lockout? Not just the layoffs, but with Crosby and Giroux and the rest of them all being on the same side in the negotiations, do they go out against each other now and say something like, good job out there buddy we really took it to em? I mean it's a lot easier to hate somebody when you haven't just worked together towards the same objective for several months, right?
