That kid line is so damn smooth, just fantastic stuff from those three.
It's funny cause looking at their point totals, you expect them to dominate and yet I went to the game thinking they'd be good but not great. Outside of Lokti, that line generated what seemed like every good offensive chance.
I spent a ton of time with/watching TT when he was developing and with the 67's so I had an unfair advantage in knowing how solid a player he would be. He is one of those kids who has so much talent and determination that you just know that if he is given the time and proper guidance that he will make it. He reminds of a young Luc in those ways (not saying that he will have the same kind of career, only that he shares similar qualities in those two areas).
I was high on Vey from the word go due to each time I had seen him play before JR's and then as he came along. He is one of those kids who has all of the skills to make it, has since he was in bantaam but has a bit of a quite personality that makes some people overlook him unless he is on the ice.
These two (Vey and TT) are both very solid kids where their determination and talent(s) are concerned. I am hoping to see them brought along slowly but trust the brain trust to handle them in the proper manner.
I am happy that our top O prospects get overlooked by allot of pundits, its fun to hear them back peddle later.
Next year for TT and the year after for Vey and we are going to be deep for a long time.
Monarchs lost today 2-1 to the Providence Bruins. But considering the depleted squad they had with only 15 skaters and freaking Justin Johnson on defense... They played a really solid came! Got some great chances but the Bruins goalie was on his A game and made the saves. Kozun got the lone goal for Manchester. Despite the "kid line" being broken up due to Toffoli being in camp, they still looked great! Jordan Weal filled in for Toffoli's spot. Peter Mannino also had a huge game making some 40 plus saves and kept the Monarchs in the game!
I am impressed with Mannino. The guy has some fire.
When I saw him a few days ago, he looked like ****. Just brutal. Even when he made saves, his rebound control was atrocious. Not even that, but his lateral movement wasn't great. One of the goals he could have possibly stopped if he did a butterfly slide instead of diving across the net.
I'd really like to see Berube get in a few games if Jones is out for a while. The guy still has promise.
How is the Monarchs roster looking now for any Manchester locals or diehards...? Anxious to see the line-up with all these moves...
Game tonight (Tuesday) against Springfield Falcons, so we shall see how it goes.
Really haven't kept up with any roster changes the Falcons have had, so curious to also see how their team may be impacted. (since they're currently leading their division)
Atleast that put 6 actual defensmen in the line up.
I guess in the next couple of years we will see new batch of players, with players like Roach, Forbert, Gravel, Miller and maybe even MacDermid to start developing as a group. I really can not wait to see these guys as a unit battling for one another.
