If Belfort wins, who's next for Silva? I guess it depends when Silva is set to come back, I heard he was planning on taking an extended amount of time off so he may not even be back fighting until later summer early fall. But other than Bisping, the only guy I can think of that would be considered close to a title fight is Weidman, but he's still arguably one more big win away from that and isn't expected to return from injury until late spring early Summer I believe. I guess Luke Rockhold could always get the shot.
The way I look at this Bisping/Belfort fight is that I loathe Bisping and want to see his ass kicked so I would be happy if Belfort does the honour, but I know even if Bisping wins it's coming anyway at the hands(and feet) of Silva, so I'm content.
Anderson won't accept the Weidman fight because he isn't a big name and he still needs to prove himself. So I highly doubt him and Soares will want anything to do with Rockhold. No one knows who he is. At least Weidman has fought in the UFC and been in the main event on Fuel TV.
It's a good question though. I think Weidman is ready and they should make Anderson take that fight if Bisping loses. If he declines, maybe Rashad? I recall him saying he would only drop down if he gets an immediate title shot. If he beats Lil Nog he'll be coming off of a win and they could make that fight happen. Seems like one of those "big fights" Anderson says he's interested in.
MAIN (FX, 9 p.m. ET) Vitor Belfort vs. Michael Bisping - TKO - 1st. I've been going back and forth on this one. Despite everyone's memory of the Hendo fight, Bisping's not an easy guy to finish, and with this being a 5-rounder there's very little chance Vitor takes the decision. I just have a feeling with it being in Brazil we see an old school blitz out of Vitor which puts Bisping down.
C.B. Dollaway vs. Daniel Sarafian - Never thought too highly of Dollaway. I think he loses the standup and gets subbed if he takes him down.
Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Ben Rothwell -This one's really a coin flip (oddsmakers have it as such as well). Rothwell looked as fit as I can remember seeing him. Gonzaga's a guy who seems to have the tools to be better than what he is, and aside from the famous Cro Cop kick Rothwell would be the best win of his career. Not to mention Schaub beat Gonzaga and Rothwell beat Schaub, so by simple MMA math... Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Thiago Tavares - I feel like normally in these prospect vs. gatekeeper type fights the prospect wins. And Sonnen picked him, so...
