Hamilton jersey ###

I think if he is going to be part the next great defenseman in Bruins lore I think he should pick a new number and ditch #53. I know he wore #27 in juniors and think that because no Bruin currently wears it he could get it pretty easily.

he'll probably wear 27 on opening night when he official makes the team.

Twenty seven would be a heck of alot better than BLAH 53. Actually, a double number would be best IMHO maybe 66? Not
quite sure if anyone else in the league is using it yet and I don't think that it should be given the same reverence as 99.
Six would be good too but it seems to be considered little jinxed.

yuck!!

The B's should retire that number just to get it the hell out of circulation. Instead of the rafters they can hang it outside one of the mens rooms with, idk, Darryl Edestrands name on it or something.

Ever heard of a guy named Mario Lemieux?! ANd I agree that giving him #6 is a death wish. I have a feeling that whatever number he takes become a niche in Bruins history.

Boston Bruins ‏@NHLBruins

Got word that Dougie Hamilton will officially be wearing #27 this season, which was his number in Niagara (had been wearing 53 in camp) ^BB

May I ask, and I mean this sincerely, why everyone hated #53 so much? I'm purely curious as to how a number could be so bothersome.

I gave my Muzz jersey to my sister, but she wants a #23 since her name is Kelly....hmmm maybe I can trade the rights to a Chris Kelly Jersey for a #27 jersey and a name plate.

Its either that or back to juniors (can't play in AHL 'cause he is not 20 yet), so he'll be with Boston.

Aaah no who's that?
Better yet who cares about that blockhead?
I don't like him and I think alot of hockey fans can't stand him either.
He's a wart on the NHL's nose IMO.
PLus, he is NO Gretzky or Orr.
BTW Mr. Era, if you read my post I explain my basic feelings about how I feel about the number.
Curious why you didn't bring up your objection when someone else mentioned number 4?

I like 27.

Wish the Bruins would switch to lower numbers.

Marchand -13
Krejci - 12
MacDermid -29 (old school fighter bruins #)
McQuaid -25
Boychuk -28
Caron -14
Peverley-16
Bourque-10
Rask -1
Pandolfo-26

These are the numbers I grew up with as a Bruins fan.

Haha great find.

Interesting they gave him his low number so quick, Lucic actually had to play some regular season games as 62 when he was 19 IIRC.
