I would have had no problem at all if the KHL made it perfectly clear from the start that when the lockout was over, the players had to go back.

However, when you have Medvedev giving it large just because he wants to keep Kovalchuk and Datsyuk for the all star game, and then COMPLETELY reversing the position on how he was last week, then it just makes him and the league look ridiculous.

Medvedev always looked and sounded rediculous

LOL, there's a related interview with Kovalchuk at championat.com:

Quote:

Rumors about Marek Svatoš (Florida, Colorado, Omsk, Nashville, Ottawa) coming to Slovan. He didn't make it into the first Panthers team during this camp after an injury and he fueled the rumors a little bit with his twitter:

"KHL? Why not, new challenge, new inspiration... I want to play hockey and score goals."

He hasn't played in a long time though, I'm not sure if he would be an asset.

A very bad idea. The last thing Slovan needs is another struggling veteran forward.

By the way, the Juraj Mikúš deal (forward, Lev to Slovan) is apparently still not finalised, and Mikúš is still injured.

Like ebis wrote, it's just a rumour, no statement. I hope it's a false rumour.

never been fan of him, he´s too lightweight and injury prone, his shoulder is made of glass.

Dallman? Wasn't he excommunicated after his wife criticized the Kazakh ruler?

It's stupid. That's how the modern hockey works though.

Slovak anthem during the last Lev - Slovan match (played in Prague). Now, I am the least nationalistic person you will ever meet, but this is still pretty impressive - 15k people at the arena, 10k of them Slovan fans (in a foreign country). It was the largest away trip in the history of Slovakia, not only hockey, any sport.

It's great to see that their fans fell in love with the league in their first season. I'm already looking forward to Medveščak, their fans seem to be as crazy as the Slovan ones.

lol. If I could, I'd allow Perezhogin, Barulin, Kuryanov and Nabokov join Kazakh team permanently if only they desired so even if it hurts our own OG chances. I'm a big fan of Kazakhstan, but I would puke if we allowed our DR foreigners to play for our national team.

Impressive. Slovac invasion of Prague.
It will be tough for any team to play against Slovan in PO especially in Bratislava.
Do players greet fans sitting in central circle after lost games?

Not so tough now with Višňovský and Sekera gone.

The amount of injuries/illnesses in Slovan lately has been ridiculous. Captain Šatan lost for the season since early November. Replacement Captain Lipiansky now ill, too. Highest-scoring forward Vondrka also missing due to illness. #3 defenceman Štajnoch (after Višňovký, Sekera) injured. Young power forward Šťastný injured long-term, too. Lots of farm team/junior players had to play for Slovan in Khanti-Mansiysk.

To be honest, I worry if Slovan can secure a play-off spot at all like this. I count with a loss in Omsk. Maybe the goalie troubles in Astana will help us.

Nichuskin: Dont want to talk to scouts.

Great attitude. He has valid contract with Traktor, no need to be drafted by NHL club.

No.
Maybe Slovan will bring in Martin Skoula if they are looking for depth on defense. I thought he would sign with another team after being released from Lev since he has had decent stats in the KHL.

pretty sure it's worth it anyway as they hold the rights for 4 years after the fact

No, please... I can see you're a Wild fan and you probably have better memories of Škoula, but enough already with the collecting of Lev castaway players by Slovan. I don't think Slovan needs underperforming Czech veterans on its team now, no matter how dire their needs in defence may be.

Škoula seems to be in the same situation now as Gomez or Redden in the NHL. Apparently, not just bad but extra-bad performances, and nobody wants to "touch" those players.

Very diffferent, it wasn't that they were bad, they just weren't worth their contract, Redden's last season in the nhl 09-10, he had 14 pts and was plus 8, the problem was he was being paid 6 million or so for that, not worth it. He has already been signed by the Blues

Gomez, who knows, but he can probably still play

Great Tarasenko goals for the Blues last night, btw. Well, it was nice to have him in the KHL while it lasted. Don't think he'll be back for another decade or two now.
