I'm honestly not even worried about the playoffs this year. This year could've not even happened anyways so I'm just "meh" on how far we go this year. It wouldn't feel the same without a whole season anyways. I'll worry more about next year as far as putting my heart into it.

Just let it sink in that the CANUCKS have a 2nd line that looks like that....
What a aging, but skilled vet that flashes signs of brilliance on occasion (Legwand(Higgins)) a young guy who has lots of skill, likes to shoot but hasn't proven to be a consistant top six threat in the NHL (Shroeder (Smith)) and a young power forward that has bouts with defensive lapses and consistancy (Kassian (Wilson))

I think they will be ok.

Preds are 7th in NHL.com's preseason power rankings.

I normally don't put any stock in these kind of things but for the Preds I think the recognition is pretty cool. The hockey world is taking notice of this little team from a non-traditional market as a year in, year out playoff contender.

I think Nashville hockey has gotten bigger in a shorter time than anyone outside of Nashville ever imagined, myself included, and watching this team make a name for itself I think is one of most exciting things going in the sport since the lockout.

I never thought I'd have a soft spot for any of the other 29 teams but it sucked me right in.

Wonder if Nashville would have interest in Peckham. Need some more physicality back there. Oil with 8 d still on roster.
Anyone agree with Rishaug? I think we need a d-man, but not a bottom pairing guy, and especially not Peckham.

I think the Preds are pretty much set with their line-up and are content.
I don't expect to see any trades or additions until the deadline.

I don't think we do a major trade unless it's an RFA that can't sign with their team. We are pretty much set, but if we can gather up enough to get someone like Subban or ROR then that would be pretty big. Not gonna happen, but I can dream.

ROR, Subban, Kulikov, and Benn are all RFAs. Man, adding one of those guys would be crazy.

Kulikov has been signed, but it doesn't look like anyone else will be before the games tomorrow.

Out of that group I'd love to see Poile take a run at ROR. The others are much too important to their respective teams.

He was? Not sure how I missed that, but thanks. Glad he's staying in Florida, but he would have been perfect for us.

Even if he comes at the cost of, say, Josi and Wilson and potentially more besides?

There's some players that I try not to speculate about. Subban's one of 'em. Circumstances such as these, contrary to desperate popular belief, do not make the deal any easier to reach. (See: eleventy billion Shea Weber trade requests.)

I'd love to go after Subban as well, but there is no way an OS works. Montreal is probably hoping for an offer sheet. Trading would be a terrible idea, too, unless somehow his value drops dramatically for no reason at all.

Guessing not long. He apparently skated yesterday, but didn't play.

I think we can expect a pretty good year out of Horns, Spaling, and Halischuk... they are all playing for cash as they will be RFA this summer... as are Josi and Blum

good news is our only UFAs are ttoally replaceable parts... Mace, Big Ern, Yip, Hannan

didnt realize we still had 3 years(including this one) left in the Marty Party... he's gonna be a fraking bargain at 3.75 and 2.25 the next two years...

Which is fun, 'cause I still remember when I felt like I couldn't speak up on his behalf because I was concerned he was already so unpopular that a Jackets fan trying to give him props would be seen as a significant minus.

I asked Barry Trotz yesterday morning about Colin Wilson's possible future potential because of his hot start this season. He said he can be a #1 winger and then #1 center in the near future. He then clarified near future to mean either later this season or next season! Great to hear from the coach's mouth!!!

Has he always said Willy has a very high ceiling, the potential to be special? I think so. Can't remember Trotz ever being that optimistic about Wilson in the near term. This season or next... that seems like a new perspective.

A welcome new perspective brought on by the fact that until now, Wilson has never been willing to accept that he needs to play as a power forward to get the most out of his skills at the NHL level. Previously he tried far to hard to use his skills, but wasn't moving his feet, lowering his shoulder, or initiating any type of contact...

We should really spend money on offense in the off-season, there are a lot of FA's available. Here's what I dream of happening:

Sign:
Corey Perry
Raffi Torres
Nathan Horton

Re-Sign:
Patric Hornqvist
Scott Hannan
Jon Blum
Chris Mason
Nick Spaling
Roman Josi

Line-up:

Martin Erat-Mike Fisher-Corey Perry
Patric Hornqvist-Colin Wilson-Nathan Horton
Sergei Kostitsyn-David Legwand-Gabriel Bourque
Raffi Torres-Paul Gaustad-Nick Spaling
Craig Smith

Roman Josi-Shea Weber
Jon Blum-Kevin Klein
Hal Gill-Ryan Ellis
Scott Hannan

Pekka Rinne
Chris Mason
