Didn't even watch it, and now the song is stuck in my head, right along with the sound fx from the game.

Even better when you check references and find out they are full of it.

Good interviews are awesome. Unfortunately, they are also too rare for my liking.

I really should write a book.

We relocated west of Syracuse NY, from Manchester NY so my fiance could take a job as a physician assistant. Unfortunately there is noting out here in terms of jobs for someone with an MPA and little experience.

I'm going to need to find a second team to root for in order to pass the time.

A friend of mine (who is out of work and needs a job desperately) was on a third round of interviews with this company when they asked for a copy of her last few W2's. They told her it was basically a formality, and as long as everything checked out, she'd be getting an offer. She refused to provide them. I was dying laughing because it's more than clear that she lied about what she'd made over the last few years, which is why she wouldn't provide the tax forms. I love how stupid some people are...

Seriously? I don't think you're allowed to ask for that stuff and especially if it has nothing to do with the job she'd be doing.

I've had multiple places ask for that over the years. In sales, they always want proof you made what you said you made, since your W2 will show whether you were a top performer or not. No clue if it's legal, but never bothered me. I've had places do full background checks as well, and that includes pulling a credit report.

I think you're right. Those things state your date of birth, which im pretty sure is completely off limits during the hiring process.

I had a second interview for a crappy video store manager job. They had me take a timed test, on which I needed to get 70% or better to move on. Keep in mind that I have a masters in poli sci, but haven't touched math since freshman year of undergrad. I open up the test and it's all multiplying/dividing fractions, square roots, etc. They had me take the test in a chair at the front of the store while this kid is throwing a tantrum and another guy is flipping out about his late fees.

I just started laughing, said "I'm good" and walked out.

I think that response was warranted, and I'd probably have done the same thing...

I'll be there!

Crazy weekend ahead. Working until close tonight, game tomorrow, work Sunday, work/game/work Monday.

And I woke up an hour before my alarm this morning. Hello body, you're gonna need your sleep but since you woke up early, I made you workout instead.

Have a great Friday everyone!

No, it's not. It's fine for companies to ask for that information, and is actually pretty standard. It just can't be used in a discriminatory fashion.

Exactly. I've been asked multiple times. It's not a big deal to me since you'd end up furnishing them with that info if you accept the job anyway. The only people who seem to have a hard time with it are those who've lied about what they've made during the interview process...

To clarify, it's not standard to ask for W2s. It's not completely off the wall, more likely in some industries than others. I was saying asking for information like DoB is completely run of the mill.

I usually don't either, but if the meat is particularly juicy in there I might.

This whole week has been a snail's pace. Every time I look at a clock I figure out how many days and hours until 7pm tomorrow night.

The countdown clock on Puck Daddy's Yahoo page helps a little.

For me it was Monday at 9AM. Staring a 3 day weekend down in the face right now, with the Bruins season kicking off tomorrow, and the Pats game Sunday night, and it is going by like beach time...

I think the only possible take away from this is that Chuck likes juicy meat.
