Last season i was able to log on to gamecenter from my phone and computer at the same time without issues, but they were both connected to the same wifi connection.

Post 224 states that they allow for a higher bitrate for live games. So I would expect better.

So this means I can log into my xbox, computer, phone, and roku at the same time as long as they're on the same wifi connection at my house?

I was really hoping when I read this earlier that "Before February 1st" meant "January 18th" but I guess they're not as quick as I hoped. Oh well.

Could be worse, and considering the compressed season there's bound to be a ton of games on NBC, NBC Sports Network, and NHL Network.

I saw this option and I have the same problem of wanting to watch the Pens while in the LA / Chicago broadcast area - I have another twist though. I won't be around for the live game as I have plans tomorrow afternoon... will there be a re-broadcast available anywhere?

I have been using center ice every year up till now, This year I am going with gamecenter. I'm a penguins fan, though... so being that the NHL crams the Pens down everyone's throats, over half the games will be available on NHLN, NBC (VS), or NBC. (So I'm essentially paying full price for a 20 games) But this conflict of local nbc games vs Penguins nbc games screwed me out of a game last year, probably going to screw me tomorrow, and it could happen again in a few weeks.

Is there a way to lower the quality on XBOX? I don't know if my internet is being crappy but I'm rewatching a game and it keeps buffereing every minute or so

That's what kept happening to the PS3 app last year and I eventually got sick of it.

Anyone ever hear of someone actually getting in trouble for circumventing GCL blackouts?

I am so pissed at the NHL right now. The xbox app's quality looks excellent and not having to live by whatever a tv channel decides to pick over here would be awesome, since many of us support teams they tend to skip over. So if I get GCL now, i'll probably get the annoyance of a handful of games being blacked out throughout the season and if my team made the playoffs, i'd have the entirity blacked out ARGH! This is bad for the growth of the sport and GCL subscriptions too, as if you'd said 48 game season, playoffs and can get it HD through xbox, for $50 i'd have jumped all over it, now i'm debating bothering at all. If a miracle happens and Premier sports goes bust with their no HD, lack of carriage in millions of homes and lame coverage i'd be over the moon. ARGH.

Alright so I'm thinking of signing up, and just want to make sure I have everything clear. If I sign up through the NHL website and pay the $50, can I access it on my xbox, as well as on the channels on Shaw?

Channels on Shaw? no. Only online content and XBOX.

Gamecenter Live and Center Ice are two different things. You either get one or the other. They aren't packaged together. So if you sign up through NHL.com, you have Gamecenter Live, which allows you to watch through your Xbox and from NHL.com, but not through your cable company.

Apparently it comes on Apple TV as well, so I wouldn't need the Shaw channels. Is their a limit to the number of devices you can sign in on?

edit: thanks guys, I didn't actually realize they were different things, but that makes sense

You're supposed to only be able to use 1 device at a time (logging in to one logs another out), but it's all the same account; can watch it through your pc web browser, or on your xbox/ps3, or appleTV, or your ipad, or android, etc. It's all a single subscription.

What kind of playoff rights does premier sports have? Surely they can't steal them all? What about when it gets deep, do they get exclusive?

From their website:

"what games will be blocked on gamecenter online?

13-15 games each week, most of playoff games from rounds 1 and 2, all of matches in round three and the finals."

They also have the rights for winter classic and all star games, they have a four year contract!

No. You aren't stealing anything, you're paying for a VPN service to mask your location, nothing illegal about that. Even if it was, they can't do ***** about it, that's the whole point of a VPN, you're untraceable.

Ok, seems like I'm able to log into the xbox and my laptop at the same time, so if there's two games I want to watch that are on at the same time, I'm in good hands
