Leaf For Life

Just wondering, who would be the last Leaf player to spend their entire career as a Leaf (I'm thinking minimum 10 years to constitute a career)?

The first criteria was start and finish your career as a Leaf, meaning never having played for anyone else.

Edit. Never mind. Missed the 10-year part.

It's not fun looking for old stuff. Rather talk about who could be the next LFL. My top two candidates are as follows:

Kessel - Albeit not an ideal one, he is curently the face of the franchise, and a top 10 forward in the league (yea I said it). We know how often those show up on our doorsteps. We will be able to give him the most term. Kessel seems to like it here too. With the shape ofthe franchsie going forward, I don't see him leaving unless Nonis makes a disasterous move.

Grabo - Has already been here for 4 years, and will be stepping onto a 5 year contract. In a way, he is the heart of the team, and a true fan favourite. One of the best 2nd line centers in the league too. Even if we acquire a top end center, and Kadri pans out as a 2ndl ine caliber cener, I think his D game is good enough to play in a shutdown role if required. He can be adapt to any situation we may face (except for cap issues).

Both of these are wrong.

Are you guys serious? Pathetic how many of you are messing this up by saying such obviously incorrect ones.

Not the sexiest answer, but Carl Gunnarsson strikes me as a guy who will always be needed on this team. I can easily see him spending 15+ years here.

Dan Daoust spent all but 4 of his over 500 games as a member of the Leafs.

Ron Ellis - 1963-1981 = Total 16 seasons and all in Toronto.

Before him George "The Chief" Armstrong with 21 years 1949-1971, all in blue and white.

Prior to that the great Syl Apps from 1936-1948 for 10 years as a Leaf and only time off fighting for his country in a World War.

Well the history books say the quintessential Leaf was Teeder Kennedy. In the 70's there was still a guy in the Gardens who would shout out T E E D E R.

True, when everyone realizes he sucks this year and is forced into retirement.
