Too many people overreacting. Biggest Schroeder fan on this board but it's a reasonable move. He'll be back very soon.

Regardless this is a complete joke. What message does it send to our prospects? Your reward for performance is a ticket to the farm team so that a plug like Ebbett who was out performed can play?

Like I said,

Mike just stop drafting players. There are many plugs that can "fill" their role waiting for jobs.

Yes. The Canucks should stop drafting players because this is the first time a young player has ever been caught in a numbers game. Unprecedented stuff here, really.

ugggggh it's so tiring.

People, please. Think before you post. He will be back. It's a numbers game and it's part of being a pro. The end.

Why even send him back to chicago if they infact intended to put the guys on LTIR and have him play right away

is he actually going to fly back? or stay in town

I think the frustration here is...

"I wanted to see Schroeder play opening night to see what he can do now we have to see Andrew *@&*)(^@$^$@^ EBBETT"

Should Detroit stop drafting? They haven't had a guy make their team since 2007. Nyquist was just sent down and he was drafted in 08, and his original draft was 07.

Does this mean he won't be in the line-up tomorrow?

Exactly. Getting to see your team's first round draft pick play is exciting (especially for a team like ours where it happens so infrequently). There is nothing exciting about Andrew Ebbet. Fans are allowed to be disappoint when **** like this happens, despite it just being a business decision.

Tangent: did Brendan Smith not make their roster?

That's great. I'm pretty sure most everyone is disappointed. Acting like a children and throwing a shrieking temper tantrums when people don't get their way does nothing but make this forum a near-unbearable place to participate whenever a decision (any decision, these days) is made by the team. We're, for the most part, adults. Geez.

I think the frustration here is that knowing AV, if Ebbett plays okay, he'll never let go and Schroeder just simply won't be called up this season unless Ebbett gets hurt.

I'm still banking on this being some sort of roster compliance move, but if it isn't, holy ****. What a team.

Meh, I'm not sure I've ever found a forum bearable. Internet anonymity brings out the worst in people.

Unfortunate we're carrying so many fringe scrub players we can't give a promising rookie a chance out of camp. Three defensemen that probably won't see ice outside of injury ... I guess Vandermeer may get dressed as a forward at some point.

Sure, but that doesn't mean you have to argue in favour of people making it a cesspool.

Are you going to go through with what you said you'd do if Schroeder got cut?

Honestly I expected it. We aren't kind to offensive prospects.

Some major over-reaction in this thread... I trust we'll see him back.

Would still rather waive Barker anyway (never liked the signing in the first place).

Canucks: Spend 200$ on a seat for our exciting product. We locked out the players and held the fans hostage, but we're rewarding you with watching journeyman forward Andrew Ebbett center our 2nd line.
