With Leino, Grigo, and Ott, which sides will the wingers be playing? Also, if I recall correctly Ott in Dallas would take draws and when switch to wing? Would that no longer be happening if Grig's can stick around?

I would expect Ott to take a lot of key faceoffs rather than Grigorenko. Leino LW, Ott RW.

Edit: Looks like I had the wings backwards: Ott LW, Leino RW

I'm happy for Grigorenko. Now I just hope he's half way decent vs. NHLers and doesn't hurt himself or the team. Time will tell.

No expectation of any kind with a young rookie this entire season. I just hope he's a sponge and soaks up the experience over this short season. Low bar set, anything more is a bonus.

Your high expectations will guarantee your massive slamming and ragging on the rookie non stop, every game. Am I wrong?

I expect nothing special. Anything more this season and I'll be happy.

I'm not claiming to know anything about anything here, but it seemed like Grigs couldn't lose any draws at the WJC. It will be nice to have 2 guys decent at draws on a checking line, though.

Call me unrealistic, but I'm expecting Grigo to produce quite a bit this season, maybe not Calder numbers, but probably close. The fact is that he is an 18 year old
Man-child. 6'3", 200, and that beard?? We've seen much smaller and less skilled rookies succeed, he shouldn't have any problems.

Although I think Ott and Leino are good linemates for now, I'd really like to see him playing with Foligno and Ennis. I like Stafford to an extent, but he is as cocky as they come, and I wouldn't mind trading him at some point this season or next. Just a pipe dream though.

I'm anticipating an epidemic of strains and sprains around the league due to a lack of conditioning.

Stafford is cocky, but he and Ennis seem to have good chemistry together so it'd be silly to at least not give F-E-S another shot and see if they can repeat their success last season in the 13 or so games they played together.

He followed up the WJC by going 10/29 (35%) in his two games back in Quebec. You'd have to think they'll shield him from faceoff duty if he does stick.

Ott is a great linemate in that case. He's a self proclaimed champ at the dot.

Tiny sample size (2 games); could have just been bad match-ups for him. However, he's far from a great faceoff man at that level so there's no reason to expect him to come in and be great at faceoffs in the NHL. My hope is that he's OK enough to take most draws, with Ott taking key / defensive zone draws. Ott is probably the best faceoff man on the team right now so it'd be silly not to take advantage of him.

Way too many syllables and letters. It's the Log line.

If there can be "The Legion of Doom", there can be "The Lumberjacks"!

I like Leino, Grigorenko, Ott aka the LeGO line.

Because just like real legos, Ruff will take them apart to build new structures which he will take apart a few periods later.

"The LOG line, or 'The Lumberjacks' if you're not into that whole brevity thing"

Now that's what I was thinking too

Plus, like real Legos, they're expensive!

If he does, that means the Sabres have suffered a steaming pile of injuries.

Or if Lindy follows the 05-06 template and rolls 3 scoring lines. Roy feasted on those matchups, why couldn't Grigo?
