Wow, that's still a good forward lineup and goaltending remains strong with the better guy still tending. The defence looks awful and I don't know if it will be able to maintain the up tempo style, let alone survive SOG against onslaught each game. Richardson needs to make adjustments to his game plan to account for the scrubs at the back. The team's best offensive d-men are Wideman (rookie) and Eckford (icky).

Essentially, Bingo faces the same issue as the parent club with the influx of call-ups at the backend.

Andre Petersson to have hip surgery like Cowen did long term

Notes: Center Mika Zibanejad is closer to a return and it could not come at a better time. He may play as soon as Saturday according to @SensProspects.

Also, forward Andre Petersson will have the same hip surgery defenseman Jared Cowen had in November and is out for the rest of the season.

I don't see Bishop there.
Maybe he is playing tonight.

Luke Richardson is going to have a challenge now but he will likely get most of these players back in a week.

Meh. I doubt Da Costa is losing sleep over it. We only recalled two forwards to camp, one top-6 wing spot's available and Silfv is clearly better for that spot. Then we may have a bottom-6 position available, and I think the org would rather have Da Costa get top minutes in the AHL than bounce between the third and fourth lines.

Maybe they told him they wanted to see more from him after his injury earlier this season?

Ceci to Owen Sound Hoffman to Binghamton...

01/17/2013 1:54 PM

OTTAWA, ONTARIO - The Ottawa Senators announced today they have reduced their training camp roster by two players, assigning defenceman Cody Ceci to the Ontario Hockey League's Owen Sound Attack, and re-assigning forward Mike Hoffman to the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League.

The Senators roster is now comprised of 24 players: three goaltenders, eight defencemen and 13 forwards.

You'll get another back when Lundin returns, probably Borowiecki.

Who is new Captain with Benoit up? Jessiman? Hoffman?

Last few games, they've had Gryba, Jessiman, and Grant with A's.

When you called Keller up a few years ago we never replaced the C. I don't want to see the C replaced, I want to see Benoit back.

With Hoffman coming back down, I assume he will get his A back. If it was up to me, I would take it away from Jessiman, but they will probably take it from Grant being as though he's slightly younger. Not really sure, that's just speculation.

I hope the B-Sens kick the snot out of the Marlies tonight. Too bad Kadri isn't still playing with them, I would like to have seen someone kick the snot out of him.

P.S. - my guess is that Benoit will eventually be returned to Bingo & get the C back. I like Gryba to keep his A, he has really impressed me this yr. Would like to see him get afew games in Ottawa at some point this season.

He's had it all year, don't see him losing it.

Any team would be foolish to pass on him, especially for the price.
