I think Garrison is pretty much Hamhuis, except Garrison is going to help out Edler defensively, just as to how Hamhuis helps Bieksa. Garrison and Hamhuis are essentially the "babysitters" for Bieksa and Edler while they generate offense.

The only concern I have is whether he'll be able to adjust to the right side at ES... which may be why they're possibly looking at switching Edler over to the right if it doesn't pan out.
Luongo for Shore, Petrovic and a 2nd round pick. Maybe take back some salary on the tail end of Luongo's contract.
As long as Canucks can acquire Shore and Petrovic, it would be a great deal for both sides. Shore can slide in as the elusive, big 3C that Canucks dire for and Petrovic can slot in next to Edler.

Don't understand how a team that wants to win a Cup now is going to simply slot in Shore and Petrovic in such important roles when they have no NHL experience. Odds of them making the team are slim, odds of them playing at all with AV as head coach is slim.

Would you rather have Drew Shore or Jordan Schroeder manning the 3rd line position?
Petrovic would be covered by one of the deepest Defence corps in the league. He is also a skilled defenceman that is more than capable of playing in the NHL. Canucks can afford to have one rookie in the line-up in the same capacity as Chris Tanev has previously.
I'm not sure if this has been discussed before...or even if i've posted this before...
But am I the only one who really hates Garrison's skating stride? It's just so lurchy and awkward and gross.
I mean, it's fairly irrelevant, as he obviously gets to where he's going plenty well most of the time...But i still really don't enjoy watching him skate.
okay guys. what are your first impressions of him after 6 games? imo he doesnt shoot much... especially on the pp. his defensive awareness is average. doesnt tie up the guys stick most of the time. we asked for a younger version of sami salo which we have but havent seen him unleashed his "big shot"
his shots seem to get blocked alot... I would almost say his defensive presence is below average.. But i wont' judge him to quick yet.. Tanev Is the Man right now! So Patient!
