Might this first game be a higher scoring game than we might expect? I wonder how sharp everyone is actually going to be, with a good number of them not having played much and only a week's worth of camp, really.

This could be like a 5-3 or 5-4 game...

The bruins play there structure very well but after only a week of organized practices together, I would tell the boys to go out and play hard, leave it all on the ice and go with instincts. ths could be like a college hockey game with lots of mistakes and lots of up and down play. I think the team to try to play a slow structured game will have trouble getting their legs going as a group and fail in this game. I expect claude to think this way for a few games and don't be surprised by a high scoring 6-5 type games. Then again we are all baffled by what we see at times out there so i wouldn't be surprised by 1-0.
Glad to be back, hello to all!!!!

Beautiful GDT Aly! Thank you!

For those of you going, enjoy the atmosphere. Nothing beats opening night other than playoffs. I'm going down the Cape to my dad's today to watch on his old non-HD tv, but the company I'll be with is worth it.

Enjoy the first of many renditions of "Gangnam Style" and "Teach Me How to Dougie" at the Garden tonight.

I usually alternate between Twitter and the GDT during games. I'm @jflocrna there if anyone here wants to follow and I'll follow you back. I'm an infrequent tweeter, but the live tweeting during games always makes me laugh.

And above all, LET'S GO BRUINS!!!

I predict a pretty high scoring game. We have some scorers, it will be very sloppy and oh by the way they have 2 40 goal scorers and brad richards. 5-4.

my questions that need to be anwered,

1.) is horton healthy and ready
2.) Is this seguin better than the one last year
3.) is chris Bourque better than pouliot
4.) can Dougie contribute more than corvo ior any other 6 man we have had, can he be better than kaberle towards the end of the year?
5.) Can tuuka compete hard like timmay.

if these 5 things come true I expect a long run

Might I suggest the Boston Garden ? ...You don't get to hear the commentary though.

I really want the bruins to win...but I also really, really want the Bruins to PUNISH the Rangers tonight. Let's start off the season with some old time hockey. Thornton versus Rupp, McQuaid or Lucic versus Bickel...bring it on. I can't wait to sit back in my seat and bask in the glory of Bruins hockey!!!

GO BRUINS!

I hope the Bruins can start the season with a win over Rangers. So early in the season, I would not be surprised to see a high scoring game between these two team.

Let's go Bruins

Anybody know if Bruins Talk Radio is doing the postgame shows this year?

I agree that the B's are better overall, particulary once they get their rhythm back. At their peak in the 2011 season they were making breakout and clearing the zone better than any team in the league and looked virtually unbeatable. I think they just need a power play and they can (and should) win the Cup again. Can't wait to see how it plays out.

The irony is that with the firepower the rangers now have their style of clutch and grab and block shots will likely negate the talent level. Torts style just doesn't lend itself to creativity. They thought just adding the personel would fix it, but of they are going to have Rick Nash out there blocking shots and holding people I don't see the point. I do see their power play as being potentially devastating. I see that being their style (ala Habs of previous years) of winning with special teams.

4.) can Dougie contribute more than corvo ior any other 6 man we have had, can he be better than kaberle towards the end of the year? I hope so. He is very young and I expect the coach to give him growing time like he did with Tyler
5.) Can tuukka compete hard like timmay. I think Tuukka can compete. I hope the fans don't boo him if he isn't Timmy. Thomas was amazing during the 2011 playoff run . That was just something very special
if these 5 things come true I expect a long run
See above...Time will tell

Someone mentioned that Adam might not be ready ?

All I want is a B's win...two points..NO injuries .

The B's can't have a slow start this season.

Everyone expects the B's to be one of the best teams...I hope so

GO BRUINS !!!
