I'm so hungry for NHL hockey I might actually watch the Sens vs Jets game before the Habs game. Well maybe some of it anyways.

Go Habs, shred those leaves.

4-0 for the good guys.

This season will be a fun one.
We won't make the playoffs that's for sure, but the youngsters will be great to watch.

Subban's playing his cards very poorly too, I hope he wakes up soon or it will hurt the Habs too.

I have to ask: how psyched are you that Kovalev has a contract with the Panthers?

Thing is though, he's a fricking rookie without much intense, big-game experience, and now he's the starting goalie expected to carry Leafs nation into the playoffs. If there's a textbook on how to f up a goalie prospect, doing this is chapter one. Same thing they did to Reimer. Same way they threw their playoff hopes on Gustavsson's shoulders his second season in North America. That org is like a machine that grinds goalie prospects into dust as quickly as possible.

Scrivens might pan out, but really the odds of him turning out to be a top-tier starter in the NHL are pretty long. And putting him under that kind of pressure by making him the game one starter strikes me as just a stupid thing to do in terms of long-term development.
This is a big game, but it's not a BIG GAME. It's the first game of the season, in a season with little pressure to win. And no offense, but it is what it is, you guys finished 28th last year. It's not like he's being thrown into a must-win playoff situation game against a Pittsbugh or NYR.

I'd love to be positive for this upcoming season but I cant see how this team can be competitive on a daily basis. On the other side, I hope we smoke the leafs tonight and Gally (or Chuckie if you prefer) scores.

I'll be realistic and say 4-3 SOW for Montreal.

Very excited, I knew he would make an NHL return.
Tought it will be with Montréal but it's fine.

Next Tuesday is already circled in my calendar, he will dominate against the Habs.
Mark my words.

edit : Is Astérix still around ? What about Erika ?

I'm happy for the guy. I don't know what he has in the tank but yes he will give a little extra on tuesday, especially in Montreal. I have a lot of respect for what he did here(charity, spectacle, etc.). I truly miss the level of excitement he would give when he was on. I was at the Bell center on his comeback game in 2005 against the Sens. Best individual performance i've ever witnessed live.

About the posters, i'll let them answer if they are still here, people change their board names a lot here.

Leaf fans are always over hyping no name players. Remember when Gustavsson was the answer for a goalie?

Considering how bad they've been for so long their optimism always amazes me

I'm going to be watching tonight's game in a bar here in Toronto, with my friend and his 10 or so other Leaf fan friends...the majority of the bar will likely be Leaf fans as well.

In short, the Habs better win because I'll be wearing my Price jersey.

Doing the same here in Peterborough, pub is likely to be all pro Toronto. Which will make it that much sweeter when we win
