I'm thinking because they could choke on it? I actually have never seen a movie with a seizure off the top of my head so I wouldn't think of doing that..

Sounds like she is doing better, but that's quite scary. All the best to her.

AndyPipkin, sorry to hear what happened.
It sounded really rough, but I am glad she is up and about and looks to be ok.

You should ask the doctor for a thorough check, nevertheless.
I am not an expert, but from what I heard, there could be some sort of underlying issue.
It is better to know what it is, to put your mind at ease.

Btw, what are you suppose to do in a situation like that?
Did the doctor gave any advice?

bad deal Andy. Very happy to hear she's alright dude. I bet you didnt realize how much you cared about there until that moment and I bet going forward you'll make sure she knows. Glad to hear it worked out.

one other thing totally NOT on that topic....

does anyone know a website that works on your ps3 where you can watched streamed TV shows? (mainly stuff like AMC) or older episodes?

Thanks.

That's terrible, Andy.

Seizures are scary. I had a couple of epileptic episodes when I was a toddler and had to take tegretol until I was 9 or so. It was bad, the medicine tasted bad, and I had to get my brain tested and all. I'm cured for the most part, they said if anything it would come back to me in my teenage years. Now that those are nearly done, it looks like I'm good till my senior years.

My doctors said I had an abnormal brain wrinkle (or lack thereof I think). I get headaches fairly easy, but they don't hurt that much and don't last too long. But, anyways I was trying to use my case for optimism. Just in case anyone was wondering, and I'm not a doctor (clearly) but it is impossible for someone to swallow their tongue and it's best that you leave a person go and try not to intervene when someone goes epileptic. The first-responders will know what to do, it's their job and they'll do it. Doesn't mean don't monitor them and call for help though, obviously.

TL;DR epilepsy sucks but can be cured or at least contained

Thanks for the support guys.

She got a little bummed this afternoon because she wasn't able to leave like she had wanted. She doesn't understand that 24 hours before she had barely finished having seizures. So she's being moved to a private room so she can actually get more then 5 mins sleep at a time and hopefully she'll be out of there sometime tomorrow.

Waited on the neurologist all day so he could check her out and let us know if we could take her home. They promised her over and over and we did the same not thinking anything of it. Never showed. Was supposed to be there at 10am to check on all his patients. I'm sure there is a legit excuse, but the angry part of me is thinking -Why spend all that time and money on school only to screw around and this is kinda of an important job. You know where people actually depend on you, with their like lives........................-

I know how you feel.
There is a shortage of neurologists in B.C.
An appointment is anywhere from 6 months to a year.

Is your girlfriend going to stay in the hospital?
Hopefully he shows up tomorrow.

Yeah she's staying the night and he's supposed to be in tomorrow. Apparently if he doesn't show people will be on the phone to him. She's just scared that she won't ever get out of the hospital and we're lying to her(If she had seen me in that position there would be no way she'd be letting me out of the hospital). But regardless of what happens, outside of her vitals plummeting for no reason, she'll be home as late as Monday afternoon.

Do your best to comfort her.
It is not easy.
Hopefully the doctor will come in tomorrow and finally put everyone's mind at ease.

Do try to get some rest.
I know it is not easy, but you might be in for a long day.

^ Yeah its been a long day and a half. I sleep whenever I can. I even curled up underneath the end of her hospital bed and managed to get a good 45 mins .

Andy, I'm so glad it sounds like everything is going to end up okay. I know that helpless feeling of the thought of losing someone you love. The closest I can relate to it was when my girlfriend texted me from her college one day and said "an alarm is going off that there's an armed gunman in the school, we're on lockdown under the tables."

The next half hour or so was the most anxious I've ever been. I could do NOTHING. I literally just left my house and started walking to nowhere, just waiting to hear something. It turned out the alarm was triggered accidentally by a security guard sitting on the panic button.

Sorry to hear about everything Andy, best wishes!

This might be off-off-topic (on topic even?) for the OT thread, but has anybody found any online clips of the Alain Vigneault after hours appearance from yesterday? I checked youtube and the cbc website, couldn't find anything :\

So yesterday I was wearing my Kesler hoody....

and got punched in the face. Please tell me it'll be alright and that Canucks fans still love me and that I'm brave for living in Winnipeg were all of a sudden everyone abandoned their real favourite teams for the Jets... please

Eh, doesn't sound very Canadian. Something I'd expect out of of Football fans.

Bad Winnipeg! Bad!
