You remember correctly. California is a community property state, and by mandate community property is split 50/50. It's obviously a little more complicated than that, but without a prior prenuptial agreement... well, I think that speaks for itself.

Getzlaf will go back east.

Hair plugs are much cheaper and people wear hats far more often in the cold.

If anyone chooses to believe it or not that's your choice but my buddies father is good friends with Perry's father and I can assure you 100% that perry won't play for the leafs or any other Canadian team.

He's talking about Perry, not Getzlaf.

If they're leaving Anaheim, chances are they're going to separate destinations, and Toronto is a team that should be putting themselves in a position to pay more for Getzlaf than anyone else.

I know that. But it appears my post went straight over your head (at least if you saw any of the Getzlaf->Toronto threads last season)

People pushing the hometown angle should stop. I've heard a number of players over the year describe why they don't want to play for their hometowns. It adds a whole lot of pressure to a player.

I wouldn't move to Toronto from Cali unless T.O. significantly overpaid (8.5 mil+). I'm hoping I'm wrong though.

anaheim will re-sign Getzlaf. Legit #1 centres are an important thing to have.

I think Getzlaf stays in Anaheim. Perry will probably get traded.

I would imagine so, they don't need the distraction of questions being asked constantly.

I think Weber moved in that position after last years playoffs, but Perry is still up there along with Crosby.

That being said if Perry hits the market expect Detroit to make a considerable offer to him.

Getzlaf is staying, for sure. Unless Murray screws it up, which is certainly possible.

Like everyone said, Perry is the one in question in my opinion.

Hopefully your joking cause we have arguably the best goalie prospect in the world right now. So I'll take your post as sarcasm.

Anaheim already has Jonas Hiller as their starter, and they see Gibson as a future contender for that spot. I think they are comfortable with their goaltending.

What exactly did your friend relay to you? Just curious. (I assume it has something to do with Perry's introverted-ness)

He doesn't want to play in a fishbowl market.

I don't think Anaheim can afford to lose Getzlaf. Their center depth is pretty weak. If it came down to the wire and Getzlaf really wants to stay, I think Anaheim would have to fold and give him whatever he wants. I just hope he gives them a home town discount.
