Colleague @BretHedican reports Scott Gomez is in San Jose getting a physical, won't skate with #sjsharks today, but probably afterwards.
Well, that's more than he would usually divulge. My money is on a deal being struck. We know he's there, there's the Robinson connection, and Gomez supposedly wants to be on the West Coast to "get out of the spotlight". It would make sense in his situation to want to be in a market that isn't so incredibly tough on its hockey players, media-wise.

And SJ is a much better choice the Anaheim. Gomez is a lock to be a Shark IMO

I thought it was odd that Hedican was piping up so much about this one particular player but then it occurred to me that they might have played in the olympics together or some other USA national team function so they probably know each other and Hedican obviously must like him a lot to be Mr Breaking News Story guy all of a sudden... Can anyone verify? I don't have time to look...

According to wiki, they were both on the 2006 Olympic team.
