If Grabs, Bailey (when he gets back), Okposo and Boyes can find some scoring consistency we might be a playoff threat.

Hopefully tonight we avoid a home-opener shutout.

Isles win 4-2. JT, KO, and Ullstrom with the goals. Streit adds an empty-netter FTW.
Welcome!

All from Staple

Quote:
Nabokov in goal, Capuano says. Keith Aucoin will play -- likely means Reasoner out. Capuano says game time decision on 18 skaters. #Isles
Quote:
With Janssen in #NJD lineup, expect Eric Boulton to play for #Isles. Casey Cizikas may be odd man out up front, not Reasoner.

Quote:
Among #Isles D, 2 spots to be decided among Martinek, B. Strait, Finley, Hickey. Capuano very concerned about PK, wants bigger bodies in.

Streit with Martinek? Maybe I have forgotten since it has been over a year ago but I thought this combination sucked? That's two guys who are easy to dominate in front of our own net on the ice at the same time. I recall a few goals against from in tight with one of these two being ignored physically by a big forward in front.

Added tidbit: Martinek was last #Isles player off ice this AM. Usually means you're out.

Devils win 2-0 as we kick off a short but long season of mediocrity.

I love the optimism here but this team is even worse then last years team and that is not saying a whole lot.

I got a good feeling about this game.

6-2, Tavares will keep up his good game and score atleast 2 goals.

Good-by Reasoner. When JJ and Bails return he is waived and hopefully claimed.

Great job as always Law. Nice to be with everyone again.

I'll be leaving for the game in a couple hours. It'll be my first opening game so hopefully they'll have a good game and won't be a disappointment like last seasons opener.

good man. Last year for the last 3 years I was forced to watch from Kansas. No more Army.. So no more Kansas (Thank god) back home, and ready for the opener.

Cappy probabaly wants to see how Finley plays in a real game, plus he has been playing the last few months while Martinek has not. I think this is Finley's 'five game tryout' per say while Martinek gets his legs under him. If Martinek is indeed stratched for tonights game.
