The rest is true. No one can dispute it. It is fact. It may sound unpopular, but read what it says. How can it be anything but true?

You may disagree with the sentiment because you want European players to develop like the Canadian players have in the CHL, where they learn the North American game. You may even think that it would make the CHL less appealing because the talent level would drop. Those are arguments that can be made.

But in terms of it hurting Canadian players, there is no way it can't be true. If the CHL teams in Canada only took Canadian players, that would help more Canadian players to develop. Fact. So you dislike a fact. That's on you.

So, how does stating a fact make one a clown?

Wow,somebody agrees with me.During the WJC there was a lengthy discussion on this exact subject on these boards.Without saying it word for word anyone who agreed with Cherry was being called Xenophobic(whatever that means).

I think you(fly) may have started something.

If I'm a season ticket holder in Sarnia and given my choice between watching Nail Yakupov or Billy Bob who'd normally be playing on the junior b team, guess which way I go?

No "Billy Bob's"on the team is part of the reason Canada did poorly.

Look, I am the number one Crosby fan there is. He says some pretty harsh stuff about Sid. The criticism is usually spot on, and even though I don't like it, he says what needs to be said.

I bet a lot of players have watched him talk about them and changed parts of their game because of his input, even if their first reaction was to be upset.

Crosby and Ovechkin both did.

It hurts only those players who're not good enough to compete with better Europeans. Good Canadians benefit from playing with the best, and that includes Europeans. Europeans should not be kicked out simply so that losers can be tricked into believing that they're better than they actually are.

I hate this overly PC era. Everybody on TV has to think twice what to say not to offend some over-sensitive group of people.

When Cherry is gone (and I hope we get to see him for the next 20 years), all we have left is some PR-trained guys who don't dare to say anything in fear of getting blasted in the media.

These so called losers you're talking about usually wind up playing in the NCAA.

Conversely, I hate that Cherry has inspired ignorant clones such as Glenn Healy.

If you were to let a PR trained guy say the same three things every week until he's 80, and treat him like a demigod and national hero, he too will sound exactly like Don Cherry.

Glenn Healy's idiocy has no excuses really.

Healy wouldn't be any smarter without Cherry being around.

Well, there he goes again. Americans and Euros wimpy, Canadians tough.

And he was doing so well, too.

Moreso calling Wilson a "dummy", and Burke a dummy for being loyal to him.

Haha Burke bringing in "US college kids, finns, and swedes"

Which US college kids did Burke bring in? I know Bozak is Canadian but he was a college player.
