Damn, I like both guys. Should be a good fight, not sure how Mousasi will do against truly top-notch competition though.

In a weird way it's a good matchup for both guys, keeping them away from wrestlers. Should be fun.

I don't care how big this guy's hype train is, Mousasi absolutely does not deserve this fight. You could argue Gus is the #2 LHW in the world, Mousasi has fought one top 10 LHW (arguably) his entire career and lost. You could argue the guy's never fought a top 10 fighter (in any weight class) his entire career. That being said, if Gus is fine with it then I'm obviously fine with it because it's an interesting fight for the simple fact that we will find out if Mousasi's hype is in fact justified.

I think its more about timing than anything..every other top LHW have fights in the next few months and Gus, to his credit, wants to stay active. Also a good measuring stick for Mousasi...I'd rather see this fight than watch Gus beat up someone like Ryan Bader.

I'd rather see him fight Bader and tune up his wrasslin. Likewise with Moose.

Crazy how quickly they throw fighters from other orgs to the wolves. RIP Mousasi.

Its a win win for the UFC. If he wins, "Hey we brought in the best to fight", if he loses "Well he wasn't that good anyway so that is why he wasnt in the UFC till now."

I think a Rockhold vs Lee match would complete an already pretty good card in San Josť.

Silva's camp wants bout with Rockhold

http://www.mixedmartialarts.com/news...with-Rockhold/

Yawn.

Weidman or Rashad please.

I think the fact Rockhold beat Jacare really legitimizes him in the eyes of Silva. It's not the flashiest fight but it works for me.

I wanted a Moussasi vs Davis bout, but I'll settle for this matchup.

As it stands now, I'm picking Gegard.

I figured Silva's camp would ask for Rockhold after Bisping lost. Makes sense given how the division is right now. Set that fight up for sometime around early summer and have Weidman fight someone(Lombard?Belfort?) for the #1 contender fight.

Yesterday Dana said they're looking at Belfort vs Rockhold....

Quote:
No contracts have been signed and no deal is done, but UFC president Dana White confirmed on Thursday that a Belfort vs. Rockhold fight is being targeted for a future date if everybody gets on the same page.

ď(Luke) Rockhold maybe, I think thatís it. Thatís who weíre talking about,Ē White responded when asked about Vitor Belfortís next opponent.

Now, White reiterated that the fight is not signed and this is in no way a formal announcement, but as of right now thatís the middleweight bout they hope to put together in the coming weeks.

I hope they finalize that fight before Silva and his camp can convince the UFC to give Rockhold a title shot.

What if Sonnen wins... does Silva fight him for that belt?

Why? You don't want Silva fighting? No matter who he is, Silva needs opponents, he's 37 years old now.

BTW, if Rampage made 15.2 mil in 11 fights, then holy moly, how much is Silva making???

I don't want to see him fight Rockhold, at least not until Rockhold wins a big fight or two in the UFC. Weidman said he'll be ready in the spring and that fight makes more sense.

Uh, a lot. People always underestimate how much the stars make. He probably made 4 or 5 mil just for taking the Bonnar fight on short notice.
