That's some pretty high-level paranoid thinking...like Hilter or Willy Wonka.

There are going to be a lot of these games - when the D is this bad, you're out of it before the offense has a chance to do anything. Then the other team is playing prevent, and the offense is trying to go through a brick wall.

I could be wrong, but isn't having Smith on the PK but not on the PP the exact opposite of how he should be played at this point?

I told myself before the game that I am not putting any stock in this game. But that's kind of hard to do when you're getting trucked offensively (22-4 in shots), defensively (4-0) and physically (no explanation needed).

Oh well. One game.

The funny thing is the Blues have the deepest forward corps in the NHL and they are still playing two rookies.

Isn't Lindholm Jarnkrok's cousin?

Honestly, that would be pretty sick to see Jarnkrok and Lindholm lining up together in two years. (Yes, 2 years. Holland will retire or be fired by then.)

It's on Holland for going along with it, but this team was (poorly) tailored to Babcock's (mediocre) principles.

i dont think the blues are that strong.
even zetta plus datsyuk are pretty mediocre on the defense work.
if these 2 guys are out of focus how can the other be alerted?

Meh, St Louis is a beast this year, it's not the end of the world. Might be good with an early wake-up call.

One player who has looked "okay" is Ian White. At least a little stability in the defense, feels like we don't have a lot of it.

Agreed, but playing against st louis for your first nhl game is a very rough task. It's early still, I hope he will learn to adjust, I like the look of his shot on the power play. You know the 1 of our 5 shots so far haha

This will either light a fire under their butts, or we will lose 4/5 in a row, call up Nyquist. Win 2 lose 3/4 more then call up Tatar and never lose again.

If you look closely Datsyuk said "****** Holland" at the end of the period.

But that is going to cripple them, paying those guys NHL salaries this season!
