He has the hands, size and skating. If the compete level is where it should, he could be a scary player.
I don't think it will ever be where it needs to be. It will always be a struggle to get him to play like he can. I think he'll have a good year though, since he's in a contract year and the shortened season helps him out huge time, since he'll only have to try for 48 games.
That will be a long term deal they'll probably come to regret.
So out of twenty or so seasons, Avs got Selänne the one season he wasn't good.
Well...he wasn't all that great with the Sharks...with the lone exception being a playoff game against the Avs where he and the Sharks positively ventilated Roy. I was there that night, and while it wasn't pretty, I finally saw firsthand why he has his nickname. I've never seen ANYONE move that fast on skates before.
