Wow Bob Cole isn't doing the Vancouver game.

Yeah, he's been looking pretty solid. I've only seen a little bit. He scored their first goal just being plated in front of the net and tipping it to the top. Nicky being Nicky

I can't believe we traded away Columbus' best player.

This made me laugh pretty hard. Good job.

I'd rather of Brassard over Foligno, though!

EDIT: Wow, I can't type. I'd rather HAVE Brassard! *

All we need is for Vancouver to lose and it will be a great day

That opening ceremony in Montreal was cringe inducing, that city just loves patting itself on the back

Wow, now Granlund has his first goal. Along with Huberdeau, Tarasenko, Conacher... crazy night for the rookies!

I just finished watching second half of the Florida game and man we are up for a big game. Don't take Florida softly. They literally have every dimension available to their game. If anything it's they lack a real scoring threat but they are very, very well rounded.

Their PP is lethal and their depth is amazing. Kulikov wasn't even playing. Ottawa has to limit their PP opportunities.

Something else I noticed is that they are very, very good on the PK but they box in to stop players download trying to create chances like Staals and Semin. They give the defenders room and Karlsson/Gonchar have to exploit it.

Carolina gave them all the chances to get comfortable and make plays, we have to be aggressive on them and Florida will falter. They are good but need to be able to execute well, when Carolina played high tempo towards the third, Florida quieted down and played defensive game.

We can't take them lightly or else we could lose to a larger score than their 5-1 victory over Carolina.

I'll say this, the East is now much more lethal, we can't take a single night off or else we'll be playing catch-up.

Rundblad gets puck at blue line off face off, skates it down to the net, fakes, tries the wrap around, almost scores. Dal players push him around, rundblad smiles.

Awesome scouting report. I think you hit the nail on the head.

I'm not sure if they have any glaring weakness.

In my opinion they don't really need a real scoring threat, because they may not have the Karlsson or Spezza type player, but they have so many other good offensive players, and it goes right down through their entire line up. I think Kovalev will come out this year with guns a' blazing as well, because he knows he has something to prove, and he'll want to prove he's still a good player, especially playing against the Sens and our crowd.

We'll need to tighten up our D and hopefully start skating a little better against a very fast Panthers team. We can't have Phillips being as slow as he was against the Jets, because the Cats have players that'll blow right by.

Should be a good game. Florida is my number two team, so I always enjoy games against them anyways.

Once again, awesome post.

Blue Jackets looking very good. Everytime Nashville has the puck there is a guy a guy right there ready to take the puck away. I'd watch for them to surprise the league this year.

Weber is going to look way worse this year without Suter bailing him out when he makes mistakes.

Thanks a lot, bro

I agree with you, everyone is playing their part so they might not need it. Kind of like Phoenix past couple of years. Hard to imagine they are still missing their top 2 defenders in Gudbranson and Kulikov as well as their best forward in Versteeg.

They have plethora of options to select from, Kulikov might play on Monday against Ottawa. We're gonna face them twice in the next week so it's gonna be interesting to see. Their defense is a bit iffy as of now though with those two still out so we have to hammer them deep. Our third line has to play big role against them to wear them down.

We can challenge them in terms of depth but our grit and our scoring threats like Spezza and Karlsson have to come to play.
