This board is funny. Firing the coach after one game. Mouahahaha.

Let's stop ******** about the coach. Have you seen this lineup? Full of midgets, unskilled forwards, soft defence. No team identity: No speed, no size, no skill. You think a good coach can fix that?

If you DVR'd, just fast forward to every time Bouillon was on the ice. Oh wait, he was on the ice the whole game.

Diaz covered his ass so many times.

agreed Therrien doesn't have a long time to turn this around. two year contract. I think bergevin also has to address the center position. pleks/DD are simply too small to have both in top 6. it just doesn't work with that lack of size - especially if pleks and gio don't have a winger with size to do the heavy lifting in the O zone

Kaberle was instrumental in your third period surge. Markov looked like he was out to lunch same with your top line. Otherwise it was a garbage hockey game by both teams, with hardly any cohesion on either side. I wouldnt hang your heads on that one boys. Good game, see you next time (hopefully for a better showing).

In the next few year we need to have two top 2 center with size. So DD and Plekanek will have to go. You really can afford only one midget in today's NHL. I think that spot should belong to Gallagher

Cannot believe what i am reading here. Come on, half our players have not played in 9 months. Same can be said for the Leafs true, but judging the team right now? A bit premature.

In any case, I'm thinking of next year, and with that in mind, I prefer to take the positive out of this, some of the things I was looking for and was actually worried about:

1. Markov was decent, does not look hurt, and did not get hurt against the Leafs!
2. Bourque showed some spark. And the guy has not played much. That's good news.
3. Gally survived his first game, he's got that out of the way, and he's learning.
4. Prust looks good, very glad we have him. He has also hardly played.
5. Diaz played well for the most part. He might surprise us this year.

I'm not saying we're going to be great this year, I don't expect that. But all of the guys above, even Marky and Bourque, could be huge pieces for us the next three years, when it starts to matter.

As for the other vets playing like crap, come on, totally expected. I have zero worries about Cole, DD, Pleks, Pax, Gio and Moen this year.

And Armstrong, Kaberle and Cube? I don't give a **** at all. They will not be here next year. Can't believe people are whining about them. They're fillers on a bad but developing team, and they will be gone when it matters.

On the down side, Eller and Emelin I want to see more from. They are key players for us going forward, and I want to see them become effective this year. That is my only complaint re this one game. But it was game one, way to early to worry about them yet. Check back in ten games.

It is point 1-5 above that count for me from this game. I'm pleased.

Until we improve our D, by signing PK and acquiring 1 other good D, we aren't going to be a very good team.

I would bet my house that he will become an impactful player in the NHL, baring injuries.

Had the Habs negotiated with him when Cunny got hired, I think he would be here today.

Was at the game. Both team suck . But the Habs transition game was horrible . Almost every pass was in the skate.

They looked scare and timid with the puck tonight and they need to clear the puck in front of Price.

But both team looked like bad team.

If Montreal wins this game 2-1, would it really make you guys feel better about this team? This team has a tonne of holes in the lineup and lacks talent, speed and strength. Bergevin has a lot of work to do.

Yup, and I think some are having trouble appreciating the job required by Gorges tonight trying to shelter Bouillon for 20+ minutes against top lines. Emelin was at least physically assertive, and Diaz managed to get a few pucks to the net and set up a goal in his relatively limited ice time. Didn't exactly think Markov was great, but he still played an obviously smart and controlled game. Basically nothing yet to change my expectation that Kaberle and Bouillon would be the obvious chinks in the armour if they got too many minutes. They certainly disappointed me the most in game 1.
