Do you realize what it means when a player is put on waivers?
Irving has better numbers than Bishop in the NHL and he was on waivers as they wanted an extra day as Karlsson looked good in camp. It was a calculated risk as a team would have had to have already had room from Irving in order to claim him clearly it worked.
Bishop passed through waivers last year a year older than Irving does that mean he is terrible?

My bad you are correct but he was in the ahl until he was 25 there isn't much of an argument for him being much better. But most articles say it was believed he would pass through regardless.

Show me a single article in the past calendar year that says Bishop would ever even have a chance of clearing waivers.
Some people need to stop before they dig their holes even deeper than they already have.

I was talking about last year and I totally misread the article (to many game beers) (http://ingoalmag.com/news/experience...-blues-backup/). I apologize I still maintain they are equally good options as Irving is 2 years younger and did better last year than Bishop has done in the nhl.
You can't really analyze Bishop through his NHL stats as its a real small sample size. The only reason his sample size is small is because he has been behind Halak/Elliot on the depth charts and now behind Anderson.
I can say with confidence if Bishop was put on waivers he would be claimed by the first few teams that get the chance. Bishop's value is realistically still around the price the Sens got him for (2nd round pick) whereas Irving has no value at all.
If the Sens put Bishop on waivers, I would bet good money that he would be claimed.
I would bet good money that Leland Irving would have been claimed had it not been for his poor start to this season (six AHL games..). Realistically Feaster knew that no team was going to take a flyer in a shortened season on a goaltender who from all accounts had been struggling recently. It was a smart move on Feaster's behalf as it not only opens up roster flexibility moving forward, but also gives Irving a kick in the pants to keep improving.
Also, since you like to mention Bishop being older, Bishop played in the NHL at a younger age than Irving.
I didn't include GAA as it is more of a team stat and Irving faced more shots. I believe they were both 23 when they made their nhl debut and Irving did at least as well.
