And if he gets lit up again? I think the plan was for the two to split these games. I'd stick with that.

Not rocket science, Canucks were still playing a scrimmage while Anaheim was playing a real game. once it got to 5-2, you could see the Canucks step it up to stop the carnage and avoid complete embarrassment.

Blaming Schneids for this debacle is ludicrous, it was a team effort. lots of soft/blown coverage.

5th goal - Ballard loses Getzlaf from the corner who then finds an open dman in the high slot - not 1 but 2 missed coverage.
4th goal - Hamhuis doesn't tie up Perry in front of the net - slam dunk
3rd goal - 3 on 2, no back-checking center to be seen, Ballard doesn't move over to tie up Winnik in the middle either.
2nd goal - cannon from Souray blocker side, a litte weak but Souray had all day to tee it up as well.
1st goal - Garrison gets turned inside out by Saku who floats one in that gets deflected by Winnik who isnt covered by Edler either.

Few comments

-didn't like the idea of a line with 2 rookies/marginal defensive player and guess what
-Kassian is a step or 2 behind the play. Sb back in the AHL.
-Burr so rusty...
-Weise a step above last year's level already, very good to see. Could be a breakout season for him.
-Volpatti actually looked serviceable.
-Manny looked behind the play and out of sync.
-Lapierre looks to be a little slower than LY. Really don't like him as 3rd line center right now.

You're right, things never change from year to year. If people don't think Edmonton will be fired up tomorrow they are in for a surprise.

Ebbett for scapegoat! Hear ye, hear ye: we shall all ignore the play of everyone else and run Andrew Ebbett out of town. Let it be written, let it be done.

Ah, yes.

The 2nd half last year where we went 25-9-6, a 112-point full-season pace? Yeah, that was only the best 2nd half record in the entire NHL. 'Terrible' indeed.

Same with 'down the stretch' where they went 8-1-1 in their last 10.

Kelly Hrudey has to be reading this thread right now. There's way too many coincidences coming up.

Schneider better getting going and fast, otherwise Luongo will take the crease and not look back.
Figuring out if Schneider is the franchise goalie is more important, IMO.

Big save by Luongo! Let's see if that can spark a Canucks rally.

Ebbett is a ridiculous candidate for a #2 centre. He's a career AHLer.

BINGO!! I don't think we should wait a few games for the fire AV threads... I think the issue hasn't gone away, and this only compounds his inability as a coach to assess the right talent and put them in situations to succeed aside from the Sedins.
