Jeff Angus over at DobberHockey just came out with his ten preseason "Fearless Predictions". #8 would be very nice if it does happen:
Quote:
8. Columbus makes the playoffs

I really like the mix of players that GM Scott Howson has assembled in Columbus. Having a goaltender other than Steve Mason is already an upgrade, although it remains to be seen how Sergei Bobrovsky fares as a starting goaltender. Columbus isn’t going to be an easy team to play against – they have grit and toughness in spades, at both forward (Derek Dorsett, Jared Boll, RJ Umberger, Brandon Dubinsky, and Nick Foligno), and on defense (Jack Johnson and James Wisniewski), and they have a promising young forward ready to break out (Cam Atkinson).
#4 will also be of interest to those folks who follow honorably discharged ex-Jackets and hope for the best for 'em.

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!

Interesting take.

In a shortened season, with the schedules so compressed, the teams that will be successful are the ones with depth. We do have some depth, though not a lot of high end skill. If our forwards can stay healthy, the playoffs aren't out of the question really. I wouldn't place a bet on it or anything though.

Some folks here count Voracek to be among the "busts" drafted by CBJ in the first round. Now, he very well be first line winger for the Flyers.

Three fine choices to wear the "A". Looking forward to tomorrow night's game. Go Jackets!

Was kind of surprised they did not do a home and away set of Alternates, but you can disagree with who was picked.

Obviously a fan who sat through quite a few of the CBJ games last season!

I'm surprised Wiz isn't an A too. I figured there would be 4-5 (Prospal too) who would rotate. Guess that could still happen.

Even with Prospal and Aucoin, the CBJ are the youngest squad in the NHL!
http://mirtle.blogspot.ca/2013/01/20...t-and-age.html

12th and 13th biggest in terms of weight and height, respectively.

Could be a home/away rotation with at least 2 of the A's like they've been doing recently.

So I wouldn't be shocked to see Prospal and Wiz with home A's.

I think if we were doing that it would've been announced as such.

I figure it's more like they're still part of the leadership corps... just, y'know, unofficial-like.

I think without their ages counted, the average age of the Jackets drops by a full year at least....

I still want them on the team though....

At least the ads are still readable.

Speaking of being sent back to hell...
