Need to do whatever we can to keep Jagr here for another 2 seasons. You just can't replicate what he brings to the table. Still a $5m+/season player. No doubt.

Yeah, pretty much as long as he wants to be here, he'll be here methinks.

Jagr on pace for 192 points. Leads league in points through 1 game.

Let's make sure he can actually keep this up before we talk about re-signing him, much less for 5+M.

Did Jagr play tonight?

I didn't really notice him out there.

Scratched. I heard Sceviour got 4 points though?

Better to take it one season at a time, IMO.

The box score says Jagr only played 16 minutes tonight. But it felt like the puck was glued to him for a nice chunk of the game.

Make that 2g,2a for Selanne. I wonder if these two are competing since they are neck-and-neck in stats. Of course, Jagr would be way ahead in stats if not for his 3 year absence.

It appears the last time a Star had 4 points in a game was Eriksson on Nov. 5, 2010... vs. Phoenix. That would be 152 games without a 4 point scorer... until tonight.

Gotta be the best Stars debut since Richards ripped the Hawks for 5 assists.

Not concerned with his 'being able to play'.

Great minds, don't fade, and he's clearly still got it.

Brunnstrom's hat trick against Nashville came the season after that. Has to be the best since then though, for sure.

I'm concerned whether he'll still have it 2 years down the road. A compromise would be 1yr guaranteed + 1 yr club option.

They should just wait until the summer and then both the team and the player can look where they are at and make a decision then.

As long as Jagr is productive, even if it's at 5 minutes a night + PP time, I'd like to have him around. If it gets to the point where he doesn't feel he's a top line forward anymore he'll probably retire though.

I would expect one year contracts only. If there's an option, which I doubt, it wouldn't be the club's IMO.

Wow this guy is just awesome player. I was so happy to see him play live in Prague. So fascinating to see Selanne/Jagr still producing big points. Awesome!

Holy....completely forgot about that (and Parrish playing for us in general).

Maybe it was better Jagr didn't get the hatty tonight.

yo, no grudge against Selanne, but it would suck big time if Jagr would lose in all time producing, to Selanna only due to Jagr playing 3 years in Russia

According to Glen Gulutzan, with about 30 seconds left in the game, Jagr said to make sure to have two centers out there on the ice, even though he could have gone back out on the ice and gotten the hat trick with the empty net. Here's the exact quote - "I’ll tell you the most impressive part is with 30-some seconds left, as I was waiting for the line change, he tapped me on the shoulder and said, ‘Make sure we have two centers out there.’ He could have gone for a third (goal) with an empty net, but that wasn’t his mindset; his mindset was get the points.”
