Columbus win a shootout in Nashville! Good for the tank to see CBJ get a confidence boosting win (seems like Bob played well in net) and good for us holding Nashville's 2nd since that is a game they usually win.

Were there any other D-men we were interested in, in the summer?

Bouillon could not have been our first option, right?

When players do better outside of Montreal... The problem isn't the players.

Canucks get destroyed at home and they "salute" the fans at center ice after the game.......... LOL

I'd salute them right back with a big middle finger if I was a Canuck fan

When Kovalev was here & the entire team was flat, he'd always seem to make things that much more frustrating with endless selfish dangles that led to nothing.

Kovalev has had lots of brilliant one game performances in his career. Give him time, he will show who he really is. The difference this time around lies in the fact that he's 39 and any offence the Panthers get from him is a bonus. He is retiring in the sunshine, a beautiful place for any old artist.

Who he really is? He's a talented forward that seems to get ragged on no matter what he does. look at our team? How many forwards actually have good hands and can create plays on their own.

DD, Pleks and Eller. We don't have any other stick handlers or good passers. It's all power and grit (Cole, Pacioretty, Bourque, Gionta, etc). Too many one dimensional players. A guy like Kovalev, Jagr, etc would have helped the team.

Lol what a ridiculous post.

The Kovalev "era" was the moment that the Habs was the most popular in the last 10-15 years. Habs became extremely popular when Kovalev joined the team. There was Kovalev t-shirt and jersey everywhere. The team was flat and boring BEFORE Kovalev, not when he was here. Habs missed playoffs 4 time out of 5 before him but Habs made the playoffs 4 seasons out of 5 when he was here. He got 31pts in those 33 playoffs games. Say what you want but he always brought it in the playoffs for us.

Of course he has his flaws but he made a lot more than being frustrating and endless selfish dangles that led to nothing. In his 5 years here, he brought some great memories.

I kinda agree at some extent.

I was a big fan of Kovy but I really wasn't sure if he can keep the pace of the NHL. Especially when I saw him play with the Sens. He looked extremely slow.

Good start for him in Florida though, lets see if he can keep it up.

And I agree that the present Habs is missing talent, badly. We don't have any guys that can skate with the puck for more than 2 seconds. Our transition game and PP is hurting because of that.

I will never question his talent but you believe that he has gotten a raw deal when it comes to an assesment of his overall play? Its hit or miss with Kovalev on any given night. You never know which guy is going to show up, when he is on he's amazing, when he is not then he is pitiful to watch. I am convinced that in his head he feels that he will do well in this lockout shortened 24 game season.

Agreed. And somehow I miss the 2007-2008 season more than the 2010 cup run. I loved that version of the team then.

Ott looked like Cammy on that goal. 1-0 Sabres

Also.. Leafs extend Lupul for 5 years.

Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger
5 year ext for Lupul. $5.25 average salary. Ltd no-trade. Leafs can request list of 14 teams. #TSN
