You would have a thought a SERIOUS buyer would have purchased the team before the season begins, it's not exactly like he hasn't had a lot to time to do so.

Maybe Jamison and the group were hoping to cash in on a lost season. When the lockout ended they realized that their plans to rake in AMF profit this season had to be reconsidered, and they wanted to renegotiate with the NHL. Consider this... without the NHL this year they could have been looking at several million in profits. With the NHL they are probably looking at several million in losses. It could be a net swing of $15-20 million or more this year.

It's put up or shut up time.

Jamison and the NHL clearly need to be in shut up mode now. They had an extra half season to put everything together, and they couldn't.

What a joke. I'm not saying that they won't eventually get the deal done, but the fact that Jamison's not sitting in as the new owner at puck drop is clearly indicative of the weakness of his finances.

Not in my wildest dreams. I still remember kicking off the thread-naming business by saying "I'm just waiting on a judge" (Stones allusion). This makes the lockouts look reasonable, which says a lot-- from my POV.

Purchasing an NHL team isn't like purchasing a car. There's a TON more aspects/dimensions to this deal.

Sure it is, in the case of car they don't let you drive it off the lot until you pay for it and if you don't have the finances you can't purchase it even though you may have worked out a prior arrangement to purchase the car at a reduced price or even if you've had the dealership throw in free oil changes, free parking or service for a set number of years.

11 days....

I would hope our friend Jamison will say something and be there for the home opener of the Yotes. But then again.....

That's right, you actually need money to buy an NHL team, you can't lease it.

He's had 18months to complete the deal. He has a generous AMF, the tax passed, the referendum attempt failed, the lock-out is over, what's holding him up? Jamison is a fraud, 11 days left...

No matter how this ends.. and its sad it must one day end....

this has been a very entertaining 3+ year ride with so many diverse characters diving in and out of the story line with more plot twists and turns than a 1000 page Murder Mystery Novel.

We could turn it into a 10 part made for TV Movie.
Call it "Desert Hockey Roots"

we've got Scruggs, Hulsizer, Bettman, Moyes, Redfield T. Baum ... and on and on it goes.

He was at the scrimmage. Why wouldn't he be at the opener?
