Why is it the norm nowadays for teams to report that they are trying to sign players? Seems like it all started with the Niedermayer sweepstakes...used to be the deal was done, everything was confidential....
Scott Gomez can definitely help the Sharks but only if he's given a good finisher. Gomez is speedy, likes to carry the puck from one end to the other. He's got good vision and is a very good passer. He's also very good on PK as well as on PP. One thing Gomez can't do is score. He doesn't have a great shot and has no confidence in his scoring abilities.
Gomez was never worth $7.2M. That contract was crazy. But for 700k, the Sharks would get a great deal.
Would add great depth to forward group. No substitution for experience. Could play in any situation. Adds emotion to his play and will call out anyone thats not doing their job. Please make this happen DW.
Thereís a lot of things wrong with this country, but one of the few things still right with it is that a man can steer clear of the organized ******** if he really wants to. Itís a goddamned luxury, and if I were you, Iíd take advantage of it while you can.
