On the contraire mon frere. If this is indeed typical like you say good thing there is a season because we can lock up a great talent if we finish in a lottery position, and it wouldn't be a whole 82 schedule that we would have to endure. Leafs, on the other hand, had a lot of chances to be in lottery position due to them being so terrible now their chances hinge on their performance and they are half season champs, plus they won't go anywhere in the playoffs anyway.

I didn't read this far at the time of my reply but yeah, this is essentially what I'm saying.

Not that I'm advocating a tank based on one game of course.

I think we should give the leafs some credit. They looked like they were ready and drilled after training camp, and we didn't. In a one-goal game, that could be the only reason we lost against such a crappy team.

He said a tough guy AND armstrong... as in prust and armstrong

Yeah, he should have carried the team on his back in his first game.

He will stay, Therrien loves him.

That's an obviously correct call. Don't make excuses.

Edit: WTF was Plek thinking?

Not sure if serious?

happens 100's of times in a game yet he calls that one

The puck was frozen for a long time in the goalie's chest, he had a lot of time to change direction or stop near him but they saw it as bad intention and penalized him. I agree with the call too, Plekanec needs to cut out those moments of frustration where he takes stupid penalties.

The team gave up 2 goals. Two goals rarely holds up unless you're playing the impotent habs.

What is frustrating is that this is a longstanding problem.
If they hadn't taken bad penalties they might haVe won 1-0.

in all fairness, don't snow the ****in' goalie. It was obvious at it comes, pleks was skating from the hash marks and continued to proceed.

pleks felt like an idiot coming out of the box, and understands that goal was totally on him. probably won't happen again.

That was a stupid move by Plekanec. He deserved it.

Of course I am serious. That does not happen "100's of times" in a season let alone a game. It was a much deserved stupid penalty.

The problem with the play is that it was a gutless way to try to shake up a rookie goaltender. That's the way our centres play, putting up some snow is easier than playing hard and making it difficult for the goalie to track the puck.

It's funny you say that because I watched the philly vs Pitts game and parts of the Ottawa vs Wpg game and I saw it happen 3 times in those games - none of those being called. If it was always called, yes I'd say that Pleks was dumb.. But it's never called. Also, even though Scrivens had it for a while the whistle wasn't blown until Pleks was right there. If the leafs would've taken offense to it, Komisarek would've got in Plek's face, but he didn't.

Again, not trying to excuse what he did, but 99 times out of 100 that's a non call.

If any other team did it Agnostic would call it a brilliant move and evidence that some 3rd liner is more valuable than Subban.

It was a dumb move by Plekanec but it happens all the time so I'm not surprised Plek was so shocked at the call, even if he should know better.

First game of the season, players are going to see how far they can push the refs. Habs found out the hard way.

Keep embarassing yourself .

So, you agree with me but it goes against your need to always disagree with me.

The guy skated in from the hashmarks and made it clear his intentions were to snow the goaltender. It was an OBVIOUS PENALTY.

Meanwhile, Kovalev gets 3 points with Florida.
We sure could've used him.

Prust was the tough guy. Armstrong is just a plug.

I am not a Kovalev fan, but Koivu generated 2 goals off beautiful assists last night and it made my stomach sick.

If I had to rate the whole team out of 10;

Pacioretty (6) - Desharnais (6) - Cole (5)
Galchenyuk (6) - Plekanec (5.5) - Gionta (6)
Moen (5) - Eller (6) - Bourque (8.5)
Prust (8) - White (6) - Armstrong (5)

Markov (7.5) - Emelin (8.5)
Kaberle (6.5) - Gorges (4)
Bouillon (3) - Diaz (6)

Price (8.5)

Stop the stupid pass the torch ceremonies.

Also looks like PK just got more pull in the negotiations.

And why does Markov look like he just got shot after every hit?
