If gudbranson were playing on the sens instead of the panthers last season he would be heralded as the 2nd coming of the messiah. If the panthers had kyle turris and offered to trade him to ottawa for gudbranson it would seem like an incredulous slap in the face.

I dont think Turris is a second line center. Turris IS a second line center. 0.59 ppg is 2nd line production.

He would be Florida's 4th best forward.

You mean for Gudbranson and Huberdeau?

Cowen has immense value, Zibanejad is still a top prospect...

Same. Michalek is our best goal scorer for now.

Cowen is injured
Only because Cowen is injured... You clearly have no idea of who Cowen is... I found Gudbranson very underwhelming everytime I watched him. Sure he improved and is still young but jury is still out before we declare him as a #1 D-man

Too bad you won't be able to watch him Cowen play this season... Cowen has at least Gudbranson's value and potential, don't kid yourself.

Dude... Michalek just turned 28 y/o

Watch him play dude... He's not burried on the Phoenix 4th line anymore

When asking for other team's young studs, be prepared to overpay. If Florida asked for Cowen, you'd have every right to ask for Gudbranson+, even though he's injured. But, if you ask for Gudbranson, and the main piece is injured, then yes, you would have to add.

Cowen's is worth less than Gudbranson because he's injured? I don't buy it, and there's no way any loss in value would equate to Zibinejad.

Gudbranson is a good player, Florida can keep him since the asking price is too high for the Sens to even consider it.

If you don't think Kyle Turris is a second line centre then I suggest you try watching a few Sens games.

To say he isn't is a very mis-informed statement.

He had one good season, I'm not going to deny that, I watch Senators games and he played good, but I just don't know if you can classify him as a second line center with one good season.

He is 23, not 33. Hold of your judgment until the end of this season.

The same should be said about Gudbranson, there are a lot of ignorant Ottawa fans in this thread, don't say he is a bottom pairing defenseman after one season, which is my point.

What has he done to show hes more than a bottom pairing though? He averaged 14mins a game last season.

If Ottawa had Gudbransson, we wouldn't want to trade him either. Asking for a team's top 3 young player or prospect is just asking for trouble.

I'd love Gudbransson but not at the price it'd realistically take to get him.
