I guess that means good things for 1st liners playing in other leagues

If I were a GM I'd have begged all my players to play in the AHL/KHL/SEL during the lockout. That's gonna be like 10 free points over teams that don't.

To be fair they're playing the rags, tortz probably had them do a full training camp worth of cardio in the past week.

Kovalev with a goal and 2 assists, right on cue. Tallon knew what he was doing. As much crap as he gets for sucking at cap management he's one of the best in the league at identifying a playstyle and assembling a roster to conform to it.

Even despite the team losing 4-0. No idea how much of it due to luck or actually being solid.

Still 10 minutes remaining in the game and Semin with 4 PIMs.

Looking at the Canes board though, he seems to be one of the few positives for them tonight.

I watched between periods, when I remembered, and he looked good to me. I'm actually pretty worried about him this year. Semin going to Carolina is like Godzilla getting signed by Tokyo.

Haha. Luongo on for Schneider after he gives up five goals on 14 shots.

No doubt. Just watched selected stretches of the Coyotes-Stars game on NHL Gamecenter (it really shines for this), and man, Jagr had an awesome game. That could be a real nice fit of a team for him.

Those guys have had prior experience coming back from lockouts. And no one takes training more seriously and has a more effective regimen than players that manage to maintain a high level into their 40s. It's all about prep, and I can't think of anyone who'd be better at it than these vets.

Plus, extra recovery time is more valuable for older players.

Brodeur is gonna post a great year as well.

Did anyone on the Blues not look good last night? It's pretty hard to look bad in a 6-0 win.

Maybe Berglund..

I really love their fore check and back check and tempo. Absolutely relentless.

Flyers may start 0-0-2. They need to fire Holmgren and trade Giroux.

Haha.. Sharks look really terrible, when Niemi has the best outlet pass then your D really sucks. Still expecting 12-1 sharks because of Wideman.

3 game losing streak now is a bit worse than a 5 game losing streak in a regular 82 game season.

Would be interesting to see both Flyers and Rangers staring in the face of opening the season effectively 0-5.

Sather should not have made that trade for Nash without getting at least 2 or 3 low second line or high end third line players. Winnik, Kostitsyn, trading for Ribeiro from his end. Richards-Stepan-Boyle is not a cup level C arrangement and the rest of their bottom 6 is ****ing putrid as well. If one of their top 4 D doesn't perform to the max or goes down so do their playoff chances. Roszival was available for peanuts but no, Stralman and Bickell seems like a great idea.

**** the rangers

Tampa looking more like Tampa against the Isles. Good lord I hope the Caps can find their rhythm.
