Sorry, his anti-traffic methodology started LONG before his concussions did... His concussions also have had nothing to do with going into traffic either, more like turning his back to on coming checks along the boards for the most part.

Also, it wasn't so much calling him into question this time either... just pointing out that if you are not willing to go into traffic, you are putting a ceiling on your own point production. To be an elite point producer in the NHL, you MUST be willing to go into traffic. Thus was calling it an advantage for Granlund's point potential is all.

Also, most rookies that score 40pts in 82 games are either 18yrs old, or bottom six players when they do so. Granlund is neither.

Really? How many bottom 6 guys score 40 points ever? Gabby only got 36 points as an 18 year old.
I wasn't saying he won't be as good or better than Bouchard! Just talking about skating

Just want to point out, Granlund has had one concussion, not two. He received concussion when missing a check along the boards in SM-Liiga, where the boards are basically concrete compared to the NHL. This was few years back, after which he has had no problems with it.

Also good to note that he's hit his head pretty bad twice since his concussion, and has had no issues whatsoever.

And that Bookman was referring to Bouchard, not Granlund.

I know, I was replying to him rather than you, I just quoted your post since it was the latest in the said discussion.

I think Esko Seppänen from Urheilulehti nailed it when he said Granlund looked just like when playing his first game for IFK back in 2009: over-excited, overplaying but stabilizing his game toward the end.

I'll say he will only get better, as he should! It was an okay debut, but watch for it when he really starts to do magic with the puck.

Im trying to watch the game on demand from the gamecenter but huge problems. What's up with this??? I hope this **** will work better later.

How was granlund? I saw he's goal before it stopped working about half way trought, I personally liked how he played when the team was pinned in the first peroid.. Solid defensively. He could use smarter players on that second PP unit, altought.. I missed Peltonen

I'll have to say Granlunds debut was decent. I mean if it wasn't for that goal we wouldn't be too happy. He looks good when he was a lot of space, like on that one PP, flutters the saucer passes and looks very smooth, his hustle was good overall too but not much after that. But then again it was his debut.

I am actually really pleased with his debut, because while he wasn't very good he didn't look out of placed playing NHL hockey like Scheifele or other young stars.

MiG wasn't a stand-out (aside from the goal) but he played a very solid game. He only had that one cringe-worthy moment in the first where he gave up the puck in our end but the entire team looked horribly out of sync, so really can't be upset.

Very solid debut for him--getting his first NHL goal out of the way right away is one less monkey to ride his back.

FBJ was clearly feeling things out early. He was trying to think his game through the entire first period. He stepped his game up quite a but in the second, though still not playing a completely instinctual level. Once he gets his game down to instinct, look out!
