There were a few sketchy interference calls in the Rangers v. Bruins game last night. It's the only game I watched though so I don't know what went on around the league.

Yep, that was a terrible call. All these penalties are just terrible for the pacing of the games.

The dive call on Ott didn't really seem warranted, but the Flyers got boned on the first no-goal call so it's whatever. And again it looks like too

Complain all you want, offense sells and defense bores. Stop touching wingers during dump and chase you'll stop getting penalties.

Mark Schieflle and half the leagues goalies should be on the divers list

I think they're trying to make a statement on interference and unsportsmanlike play until the players adjust to a cleaner game. There was way too much holding, setting picks, and embellishment last year, it was sickening to watch sometimes. Of course, goalies being sacred will still get away with performances worthy of an Oscar,

Stop lying.

Hmm, why is it in the first pic, Salos got a handful of Ovechkins jersey. I guess its just coincidence in the 2nd picture the left shoulder of Ovechkins jersey is defying gravity.

Pathetic. I'm ashamed to be a Capitals fan, Ovechkin is clearly using a gravity hack of some sort.

Why are you using photos to prove Ovis innocence instead of the actual play? Maybe it has to do with how ridiculas he looked?

That isn't proof of anything.

I love the fact they're finally starting to actually enforce this rule, something had to be done.

Ott had a great game, but that was a terrible call on ott. It looked to me like he simply fell. Didnt even look for a pentalty, just got up and kept skating.

Didn't seem to look for a call, fell down got right back up...I think he lost his balance, the refs saw the name/# on the back and called it a dive. Oh well.

So his arm around Ovechkins shoulder, then his jersey mysteriously defying gravity and Salos arm stretched out backwards instead of trying to protect himself from hitting his head on the boards isn't good enough?

Clearly Ovechkin should be suspended, he probaly at stickum on his jersey, making it impossible for Salo to protect himself.

Ovi spun like the Tasmanian devil on that play. The penalty was right and ovi embellished it. Too much time in Europe obviously. You guys scored on the 4 on 4 anyway.

So what is required for a double-minor on embellishment?

I remember reading that a new rule was being put in place where if somebody dived, he'd receive a double-minor and the player committing the original penalty would only be given two minutes.

However, yesterday Ovechkin was called for embellishment without receiving the extra penalty and I believe it happened to someone else as well. I'm just wondering what is required for the four minute penalty.

I'd rather them just call the dive and not the dive and original penalty like they have done in the past

Ott only got 2 for diving today

Ryan Miller was flopping so much today, he looked like a fish flopping on the shore. He keeps that up, and he's going to get run every game and the refs won't even call it.

This.

Very smart by Miller, now the only way to score on him is without driving to the net.

Terrible call on Ott when you consider Leopold getting called for "tripping" Grioux when Claude threw himself to the ice before Leopold's stick did anything to him. Pierre acting like Giroux got corkscrewed was even worse.
