Yep, battle of the backups.

Going to get my first glimpse at Nihlstorp tonight, here's hoping he shines in his Stars debut!

Has it been declared that Nihlstorp will be starting tonight? I think he'll do fine with the opportunity, but it will be another step up from the AHL

Gully's press conference ended with him saying he hadn't talked to Kari yet, but they were leaning towards Nihlstorp.

Officially, official now:

@MikeHeika: Officially Harding vs Nilstorp. No other changes to Wild lineup. Aaron Rome skated hard this morning. Looks like he will sit again for Stars

I certainly didn't anticipate impatiently awaiting Rome's insertion into the lineup.

I would prefer Rome over Jordie Benn. Awful turnover from Benn which almost cost the Stars the game.

Have a feeling Roy is going to have a really big game. Dunno why.

Probably feeling that way cause of watching Ott in Buffalo. eh.

That goal he scored was quite sick. Only saw a brief real-time replay. Did he one-knee it Hull Style?

Other than that huge turnover by Jo.Benn I didn't think he played terrible last night. He was quick on the transition, something Fistric & Souray were not. He really didn't stand out in a good or bad way (other than the turnover) which is typically what you want in your #6D. Maybe I just had very low expectations for him.

Also, I would rather him make that mistake in the first game so he can learn from it and not during the end of the season playoff push.

I'll give him some slack until that becomes common. Rome isn't exactly a great answer.

I felt like Benn was solid for most of the game. There was the huge turnover that cost a goal and another play where he misjudged things and got blown past. I dont really think Rome is likely to be any better. I feel like if Benn was someone other than Jamies brother people would give him a little more slack but in general Stars fans are sick of family members in the organization because they havent been working out.

Colorado lost last night because they got into penalty trouble. Other wise, they were the better team. As long as the Stars do the same, how much problems can they have.

Ready to get this thing underway already. Need to not take penalties AND not miss the net as much as we did last night (23 times I believe).

Roy probably had about 10 of those all on his own.

R. Smith is flying in today and should be there in time for the pregame skate. He's a game time decision.
