I agree that things are a little overboard right now. One win does not a season make. However, you can't blame some of my brethren and me for crowing a little. The wings have been killing us for years!!! Spanking their ass on opening night broke no one's heart in St. Louis. That much I promise you and anyone with eyes can see the Tarasenko kid is for real. Any sour grapes over him is jealousy plain and simple. I do think we are for real but there are several good teams in the league and we all know the Cup is a crapshoot. Good luck to everyone's team and I for one am just really glad we have hockey to talk about.

I think when the results surprise some people tend to over react. Having said that... Wtf are the Wings doing about their defense???

The Kings should have awarded the Cup to the Blackhawks and let them skate around with it after the game.

Apparently the Islanders are going 0-48 after dropping a 2-1 game to the defending Eastern Conference champions.

You're just overreacting man, and this thread was definitely NOT created because a Wings fan is insecure about their team right now!

Rob Scuderi is the new offensive power house for the Kings.

No one should call me a Detroit hater, because I'm not. That said, regardless of the first night's results, I do believe that the Red Wings are going to be in a tough fight to get a Playoff spot this Season. I also believe though, that with the ownership and management of that team, they won't be a team down for long, a Season or two maybe.

The blackhawks looked dominant. You reslly have to see toews, kane, hossa and sharp in person to appreciate how much offensive firepower they have.

Everyone knows how much firepower they have. What becomes an issue for the team is when that firepower is slowed, and they have to depend on depth, which is quite average. Add in goaltending woes, and they're a solid playoff team that's not considered a top contender (enough firepower to play the spoiler against anyone though).

Not as bad as the Habs but still bad.

Yeah they definetly live and die by those guys. I bet chicago is a hard team to beat when its talent versus talent but probably pretty easy to bog down in a tactical game

No the Caps reaction regarding Kuznetsov is: "Oh he says he will only for Capitals after KHL contract over? Liar! He will renege!"

Its funny though how the Debbie Downers on the Caps board are the biggest fans of Holmgren's trading, yet are silent on the fact the Flyers have lost their first 2.
