Man, they handed the slugs the game today.
Called a weak goalie interference, disallowed a goal because the ref couldn't see it and gave the slugs a goal that went in off a skate.
lol poor flyers.

Looking forward to the Vancouver-Oliers game tonight. Great potential for a real **** storm to start around Luongo and Schneider. Plus, Yakupov has to one up all the other rookies who had great nights yesterday.

Yakupov was so very underwhelming at the World Juniors...
I'm far from an expert on hockey so any evaluation is not to be taken too seriously but I don't think he will be one of the better 1st overall: the Oilers really should have picked a dman.

Never judge a player simply based off the WJC. It's idiotic.

He's certainly no Chris Phillips.

Baertshi looks really good so far. The Flames are an interesting team right now with Tanguay and Iginla playing center sometimes.

Wow, Calgary has been impressive so far, they've been skating circles around San Jose.

Thirding the Calgary love. Backlund, Baertshi, and ¿Stepniak? is some pretty good scoring depth.
Begin looked really good, but he might wear down over the season. Also, Derek Smith looked pretty good as well.
It was just one period in the first game though. I still think the Flames should rebuild.

They were talking about that on TSN. The coach wants Iggy to do faceoffs against big guys like Thorton.

Battle of the too old to win, too old to quit teams. Bleak futures. :/
Baertschi is going to be great though. Iginla is going to leave the Flames.

Rumours lately about him signing a retirement contract with the Flames.

Watching San Jose - Calgary makes me sad. Both these team will be sad to watch in the future.
In other news, the new scoreboard for SN is pretty good. Is it bad that I enjoy it more than the game. Can't wait to see it on during the Sens game tomorrow.

Iginla seems like a guy who cares too much about winning to do something like that.

What makes you say that? I feel like he's a lot like Alfie, and that Alfie cares a lot about winning, but I can't see him going anywhere.

If he cared about winning as much as you say wouldn't you think he would have been traded already? The Flames have sucked for years. I expect him to retire a Flame.
