Hamilton looked pretty decent. He saved a goal on one defensive play by tipping the puck away on a cross crease pass
A little confidence will go a long way with him

I don't think you should remove it, first regular season game right?
Can we post stats in this thread, or is it only debuts? So we can keep up with the rookies around the league?

Yeah I think tracking some stats would be fun. I could include them in the OP if it'd be helpful to people as a kind of a tracker?

Huberdeau, Tarasenko, Conacher, and Granlund have each scored in their first NHL game tonight, all home games (Tarasenko actually scored twice in his debut).
Nice for me to see Conacher score, as he went to the same college as I did, Canisius College in Buffalo.

He did and he will be playing tomorrow afternoon against the Flyers in his first game. However, I'll wait until then to add him to the list, but for all intensive purposes, he'll definitely be making his debut tomorrow.

I thought he was a RW as well, so I'll change him to that.

You can tell Rakell has the smarts and talent...however I do not think he is fully ready physically. Some AHL time will certainly not hurt his development.

Laughton looked really good today centering the third line
Probably was our best forward

He only played 7 minutes but he had 3 or 4 shots, and was very noticeable. All around good game from him

Mikael Granlund had ok debut. Got a goal and was responsible defensively and even threw himself in front of the puck. When the season goes on and he gets to hold the puck more and knows his linemates better... good things might happen.
I liked
Leo Komarov's (Leafs) first game...8 registered hits and was already doing the pest job and went to the net...almost had a goal. He was talking something to
Galchenyuk and by the look of Alex's face it wasn't nice
Rickard Rakell (Ducks), ok debut..

He looked very good. Only got 7 minutes on the ice but had 3 shots and sent an Islander into the bench. He looks like a more offensively skilled David Clarkson, big kid.

Nice.
I was on the fence on whether I wanted Rangers to draft him or not, will try to catch your next game to get a look at him.

Conacher has that hockey royalty Conacher blood in him. Maybe he'll be able to channel their game.

Grigorenko from what I saw didn't make any mistakes but he didn't stand out either. I'm sure he's ok with keeping up with the NHL pace at 18. I hope he gets a goal and some assists so Ruff signs him a contract. Really impressed me during the WJC.

Can the OP change this to the 2012-2013 Rookies Thread? Would love to have updates of everyone's progress, this is an exciting rookie class and a lot of 2012 1st rounders are in the show already
