Then I'll be more than satisfied. I think this group when given time to sync up will be as dominant as any other Top 6 in the league.
I do see a bit of skating deficiency in Grossmann, also some poor pinching decisions but I'd imagine this has more to do with playing with these guys for the first time since April.
Kurtis Foster needs to be used more on the PP as well. Easily the hardest shot on the team and we're still doing the same routine with Giroux at the left circle and Harts in the slot. It's way too predictable and we should focus on more shots from the point. Timonen's shot is worthless at this point.
Coburn should be ready to take his game to #1 Dman status this season as well I think.
how is schenn playing for u guys?? i really hope he can be a good player for u...
Strong, Physical D. Noticed him skate out of a few dicey, tough forechecking situations. Isn't afraid to shoot the puck - satisfied in the 2 games so far.

Well add a fast, smooth skating PMD that doesn't have to be a no. 1 and I think everything will be good. Things should balance out after that. So moving forward:

It's a little early to say. He hasn't been bad, but there is room for him to play better I think. It's so early in the season and they had such a short camp it's really tough to read much into anything. He looks a little lighter in his skates now.
I don't really agree. Kimmo will be done soon. Coburn and Grossman are good pieces and I thought schenn looked good today. I'm not high on mez and thought he's been pretty bad so far.
They are really lacking a dynamic element back there

Coburn and Grossman are solid D but are nowhere near Pronger, Weber, Lindstrom, Edler ect.
You got anyone in system ready to step into PMD role?
Gustafsson has the talent, but he's not 6'4'' or named Timonen (and he also is not very polished yet to be fair). So we'll see. He will likely get a chance when someone gets injured.
OEL, Pietrangelo, Bogozian, and Rundblad are all RFA this summer. We could try to steal one of them away, but highly doubt we would be successful with any of thee first three. Maybe we could get Bogozian or Rundblad, but the other two I doubt it

With the way we don't have a REAL pmd I'd love for us to make a move for 2 of these guys on this list.
When you look at our cap, we have 56 mil committed to next year, Kimmo, foster, walker, shelley, feds all off the books gives us enough room to try it. Then maybe we trade one D for a forward?
If that is the case I make that trade yesterday. However, I don't believe that PHX makes that deal.
If we want to get Bogo, OEL, or Pietro, first hope they make it to UFA, then second a 30 m, 3 yr deal would probably do it....for the first 2. STL probably would still match that for Pietro. Heck, I don't know what the max offer is anymore...but some paltry 7m/yr isn't going to even make them blink on these players.

This "sign a RFA" thought is just absurd.
Some coyotes fans said they'd take read + 2nd but most said no for Rundblad and I agree if that is all it takes the flyers should jump on it. I also agree that everyone constantly suggesting we sign RFAs is rediculous, it's not happening. Only way the flyers are getting a young quality d-man is through a trade or the draft.

I highly doubt any of those players, specifically the first 3, are going to put in a place where they could lose them for a bunch of draft picks or some mediocre players. Circumstances like Weber don't come up as often as people seem to think. If the Flyers want a good d-man their most likely going to have to pay up or draft one.
