Not really on the verge, no imminent trade as far as i can tell. Nobody thinks hes worth what he is apparently. And he is starting tonight.

No, we certainly are not. He may be on the block but nothing appears to be close to completion.

How did our offence look in the finals?

Our team in 2010-11 was stacked all over, but even then we didn;t have great scoring support for the twins on lines 2 and 3. Kesler was a one man show between two stiffs all season.

I love how leafs fans all over are telling us what a mess we have after one game of the season, even shortened, it was the first game of the season.

Pass it to Bulis ‏@passittobulis
Controversially, yes. RT @mlse: So Luongo is starting the game he was always supposed to be starting

Doesn't help for the two stiffs that Kesler didn't want to pass.

He's also the guy who got blown out of the water in 4 of 7 games in the SCF and the guy who lost the confidence of his own coach and GM in game 6 in the opening round.

If he ended up winning the Conn Smythe it would have been the most inconsistent performance for a Conn Smythe in Conn Smythe history.

True, but him being atrocious for most of the finals takes the sting out of that.

In large part because no one wants him after his performance in the finals.

What happens if he doesn't post two shutouts in the Finals?

As far as I saw, in 3 games in the Finals 19 guys got blown out of the water.

I think the Sharks would be perfect trading partners for us right now. Any of Marleau, Clowe, Pavelski or Havlat would significantly help this team's top six.

They lose faster.

Being awesome in 3 games is great, but when you are absolutely awful in the other 4 it really doesn't mean much.

At least for goalies. If the Sedin's had been awesome in 3 of the games then the Canucks might have won the series. Blame to go all around, that's true.

What the Luongo apologists don't seem to understand, getting shutout doesn't excuse bad goaltending.

Compare it with the Anaheim series, the forwards were the problem. The main difference between that and the Boston series was that Luongo kept them in every game. He was there best player every night. Against Boston he was awful 4 of the games.

We'll just conveniently disregard all the injuries and abysmal play of the players in front of him. It definitely was all on Luongo.

No, but we can't just disregard his own awful play.

I agree. Luongo for Marleau please!

And as we speak SJS just put up three quick ones on CGY.

I wonder if there would be anyone NOT in favor of trading Kassian for Hodgson - were that a possibility.

I don't think they'd want a goalie as they have an underrated young netminder in Niemi.

Right here, Hodgson can go **** himself. Kassian is going to be a better player when he hits his stride.

I understood the idea of the trade...but the timing was pretty stupid IMO. Kesler was playing injured and the team was in a funk offensively and we trade away the only guy who might have been able to step up and replace some of the offense that was sorely missing...we replace him with an aging shutdown specialist center and a young power forward who's going to take a few years to develop...we were supposed to be a contending team...made no sense to me why that trade needed to be done right at that point...still doesn't make any sense to me.

Yeah pretty much.

Kassian might be a good player in a few years.

Hodgson might have been a valuable piece in a cup run now.

Didn't realize that giving up 3 goals in a game constitutes being absolutely awful. That's a new one.

And we are not. Frankly, Luongo neither cost us that series nor played horrendous (save a game) under the circumstances.

You mean 3 of the 7 games? In what world is allowing 3 goals in a game considered being blown out of the water?
