I'm just glad that they're going about it in a positive way(ie. stepping it up).
They'll get their shot at some point, no doubt about it.

Quebecois are rulling in Springfield. Chaput with 7 points in 6 January games, not bad for the kid.

JAM is mad, yes. Although he has not played hard in awhile prior to the past few games. I think not getting an invite to camp kick started him.

Chaput is happy to have more than 3 shifts a game now.

Looks like you got your wish Hockeygirl. Savard made the team (Along with Cam, Johansen, Calvert, and Moore) and Erixon was sent back.

Priceless

I'll have to look around the league to compare but that seems like a lot to lose.

Oklahoma City lost Hall, Eberle,RNH, & Schultz. Although RNH went to WJC.

Chaput with another 2 points game. I bet he doesn't want Johansen back in Springfield.

I am thrilled to not have Savard back. If being in the NHL makes him work hard again, good for him. I'll take Erixon over him anyday.

Good game by the Falcons.

I love the Holden/Prout pairing. Prout is back to playing a more physical game, Holden can rely on his partner now and is taking more chances and joining the rush more when it's a good choice. Great choice by Larsen.

Bryan Helmer looked OK. He was beat 1 time on speed and got right back with his man, hopefully his play keeps up to the level needed.

The Whale goals were both bad goals. Line change gone wrong and Erixon out of position due to that was the reason for 1st goal. He made up for the error and scored soon after.

The 2nd Whale goal was just York's ADHD acting up. He loses focus late in games. Happened v.s. Providence last week as well. He had some good saves, just needs 60 mins of focus.

Falcons play the Albany Devils tonight at home and are in Bridgeport Sunday. Both we have struggled against a bit.

I am really looking forward to seeing what Erixon and JAM can do this season, since I expect at some point that they will get a look. Hopefully we don't end up with 8 call-ups in our line-up at once like we did several seasons back due to injuries.

Watch that Tyler Johnson kid for Tampa Bay. Flat out in my opinion, the best NHL prospect in the AHL, and will be the heir apparent to Marty St. Louis.

Surprised Holden doesn't get more recognition. Last 8 games he has 8 points and +7 meanwhile playing against the other teams top line and not much powerplay time. He is +14 in 39 games yet seems to fly under the radar of everyone?

I was surprised when he signed with the Jackets last summer AGAIN. He's been staying with this organisation forever - I remember him playing for Syracuse. Columbus didn't call him up even during the last disaster year with all the injuries on defense and it doesn't look like he has any future here. He's big and reliable decision maker. I thougtht he could be 6th-7th guy on some NHL teams, but probably there's something we don't know about. Maybe his skating? Anyway if he makes it to the NHL that's gonna be with another organisation.

well he was hurt most of last year so he wasn't available for call up but he should have made the team out of camp if they based things on performance. The brains in Columbus seem to rather have guys like Aaron Johnson or Commodore on the team...since that has worked so well for this organization!

I've seen Drazenovic get mentioned even less, if he ever gets a chance somewhere he could become a good third/fourth line energy player who can put up some points.

I give Holden a lot of praise. He is the Falcons best defenseman. He's not flashy, so the attention goes to others who are not as good defensively, but put points up. Solid positioning and plays big minutes.

I would hate to lose him, but he deserves to be in Columbus. I think Columbus brass overlooks him and he is not considered a prospect to them. If Nick wants a true shot at the NHL, it will be with other org and I hate that.

I saw in the Dispatch that Erixon and Holden were the #8 and #9 defensemen, implying they would get the next call-ups. However, both Holden and Erixon are left-handed shots while Prout and Goloubef are righties. That could influence things depending on who's injured.

Holden deserves a shot, but he might get stuck in Springy if the priority is for the Falcons to keep winning, while one of the younger prospects gets called up to sit in the press box.
