Solid effort tonight. Jones was in his first game back from injury and looked fantastic! Really good to see him get back on his game. The defense was a little suspect getting caught deep in the Sharks zone and allowing a few breakaways which is how they scored their lone goal. Although Vincent LoVerde who is up from the Ontario Reign had a solid game.
Toffoli's goal was awesome! It came with about a minute left in the game. There was a foot race for a loose puck between Toffoli and the Sharks defender. At the last second Toffoli put it into another gear was able to beat him out for the puck and get a solid shot off that hit the post. Shortly there after Toffoli got himself alone in front the of the net and Andreoff fed him the puck and he used that NHL shot of his to put it home!
Tomorrow night the Manchester Monarchs are having "Los Angeles Kings Night" they will be wearing Kings jerseys and ironically will be raising a commemorative Kings Stanley Cup banner. This night was planned as LA Kings night since the begging of the season. Kinda funny that it ends up being the same night Los Angeles lifts theirs.
Nice to hear of the trio of scorers. Especially since I've been high on Vey since his first camp. I hope Weal can turn it around too, but he'll likely be an AHL star. Toffoli is, well, NHL bound sooner rather than later, so good that he keeps it up!
Question for those who watched the game. Was that Andreoff-Bonneau scrap the opening face-off? I'm curious as this was the first meeting since the Gogol hit. Did they let it go after that retribution? They got their heavy to get revenge on a midweight. And Andreoff just basically tried to tie him up while taking his punishment, not really even going for a take down. He manned up after his ugly hit. But knowing Worcester they probably didn't let it go and were probably all over him the whole game. Is that why JJ wanted to go with Bonneau later? Or were they just looking to have round 50 of that fight?

Everything you said is correct. The fight was in response to the Hit on Gogol. Andy hung in there and did fine. That was Johnson's dance partner.
AA is not the sexiest prospect we have but he is truly living up to what I and others have said about him since his draft. He is a gritty hard nosed character guy who brings everything he has to his game. Consistency was a bug of his coming up but by the time he is NHL ready I think that will be behind him.
Wondering if Andreoff makes it as a LW or C when he turns pro. Down the road, there could be an opening on the fourth line whenever Colin Fraser departs. Anyone know if Andreoff has been playing center or wing in Manchester?
I coudn't watch the game but they fought off the opening faceoff and then Johnson fought Bonneau next.
AA doesnt fight guys like Bonneau but he did tonight.
I'm glad he survived and didnt go down like most other guys in the league. The kid is going to be a good all around player.
Tonight was a mini test for Andreoff and he passed.
Thanks for the link in the post before this one. But I had seen the fight vid before I was just trying to figure out what happened next. Because of our usual bad blood with Worcester. But I agree with what you said about that being a test for AA. He doesn't usually go out of his weight class like that, but he knew he had to answer the bell for that hit. Let's be honest, with the mean streak AA plays with, that's not going to be the last questionable hit of his career. So it was important for him to show to even the Kings that he'll show up still.
And like you said he didn't go down like some of the other players in the league would've. If the situation was reversed, and Gogol laid the hit on AA. Would Gogol have done what AA did and stood up with JJ like that and not even try to take him down and get out of it? I can't say for sure but I really don't think so.
All that said, I see AA being a legit bottom 6er ( Probably 4th line ) in the NHL that plays on the edge and drops the gloves often, but isn't a constant liability on the ice. He has skill and can skate and make smooth passes. He'll be a fan favorite and bring lots of energy to the bottom of a line up.
Kinda of an ugly game tonight (must be organization thing..) but Manchester was able to pull out the victory. Game was won on the back of Peter Mannino who stopped 45 of 46 shots (Monarchs were out shot 46-27) He also killed off 8 penalties! A lot of stupid penalties tonight including 2 delay of games and 2 conservative too many men on the ice penalties.
Loktionov was the best player on the ice tonight but could NOT catch a break and was stopped on two clear cut breakaways! (Bodnarchuk and Legein also where stopped on clear cut breakaways)
The week in camp has really helped Toffoli as he's been playing much harder and hustling in his first two games back from camp. Thank You Darryl Sutter!
Goals tonight were by Kolomatis, Kozun, and Legein (EN)
Wow, what a turnaround. With all the questions surrounding the team, the Monarchs get another win today and most importantly come out of this weekend with six points in three games -- all against division rivals.
The kid line had a "relatively" quiet weekend, but the second and third lines (Weal - Lokti - Kozun, Cliche - Andreoff - O'Neill, respectively) stepped up big time.
The Monarchs went from being out of a playoff spot at the beginning of the weekend to fifth in the conference.
Got back from the game a little while ago. Monarchs won 5-2 over the Pirates!
The boys are starting to look pretty good! 3 wins in 2.5 days.... Not bad!
One guy who has really stepped his game up in the past 2 weeks is Jordan Weal. Starting to show signs of the guy that was in juniors. I think the NHL restarting. All the rosters issues are over with the NHL players, waiver players, camp players. They know who they are now and where they're playing in the line-up. A new line that's been doing pretty well and was fantastic today is the line of Andreoff-Cliche-O'Neill. It was was actually put together by the recommendation of Marc-Andre Cliche. Told Morris to put the line together and he did! They looked great today. Lots of chemistry.
Brian O'Neill had a great game today as well. Another small guys like Kozun who plays his ass off! Made some fantastic plays that lead to goals. Andreoff also showed off tonight that he has some pretty nice hands.
Nothing bad to say today. A lot of the penalties today were BS calls from a bad referee.

That's quite the display of skill by Andreoff on his goal. To pull off a move like that in tight against the goalie is quite impressive. I like that the Kings have a bevy of big, young, hard nosed players who can make plays (Nolan, Clifford, King and Andreoff).

Wow that was a sick backhand toe drag. Not an easy move in tight like that.
